Predatory Insect Release Program Problem Statement Pest insects are a limiting factor in vegetable production, and minor insect damages reduce crops value since the vegetable market demands unblemished clean produce. Therefore, organic growers require predatory insect release programs that will help them recognize the problem and exercise early control to prevent pest buildup. The Current State of Research Most research articles focus on biological management programs to control pest insects. Although chemical pest control is an option in vegetable production, most researchers are interested in evaluating programs that can biologically control pest insects in organic production. Most papers are field studies that include the actual introduction of predatory insects to manage the harmful pest, but a few are lab reviews. Summary of research articles reviewed. The first research article by Perez-Alvarez, Nault, & Poveda, involved a lab review of the augmentation program, which naturally controls pest insects. The technique involves releasing natural enemies to enhance the effectiveness of natural enemies (Perez-Alvarez, Nault, & Poveda, 2019). Depending on the number of pest insects and the extent of crop damage, periodic…

Federal Tax Topic: Patent A patent is a right given to a person who invented a new product by the federal government through the patent and trademark office. It protects the invention made from being made, sold, or imported by another person. The right covers the product for a specific time, usually 20 years (Pressman et al. 10). Therefore, a patent protects inventions from being copied, allowing the inventor to enjoy a monopoly. As a result, it ensures high profitability in inventions, hence encourages citizens to be creative and invent new products. A patent is transferable. The owner of the patent can sell the patent to another company just like a property according to the US code 1235 that states that a transfer of rights to a patent shall be considered sale or exchange of the asset for more than one year regardless of payment of or productivity (Pressman et al. 10). The owner can also retain the patent, but allowing another company to make and sell the invented product that was patented. However, the company allowed to enjoy the…

Augustine Amaquandoh Professor Tamra Expository Writing 11/14/2020 “Redirected towards a Sustainable Environment” Our minds are vulnerable to captivity, and as psychological slaves, we strive to free ourselves from bondage. How we perceive things in a situation affects how we conduct ourselves when handling cases that require critical thinking. The book ‘Wisdom’ by Thurman tries to explain how, through understanding ourselves, we create avenues for understanding others. Through cooperation, humanity can achieve what is and was previously perceived as impossible. Klein expresses her thoughts on climate change, which is her revolutionary focal point in her work. She presupposes that climate change is a factor in human influence and a direct effect of what and how humans conduct themselves. In her book ‘Hot Money: How free Market Fundamentalism Helped Overheat the Planet,’ Klein discusses how countries prefer financial benefits to conservation of the environment. She illustrates that corporations are more inclined to expand their market bases and profits at the environment’s expense. Zuboff talks of how capitalists infringe on worker’s rights. She emphasizes dependency as the leading cause of the wrongful treatment…
