Name Instructor Course Date   “The Year of the Flood” by Margaret Atwood To my perception, it is a work of fearless and utterly imagination. Margaret Atwood is never daunted on what lies ahead. In fact, she takes pictures of the face of the future and lets us see what she has conjured, or, somewhat, that which we have conjured to some degree of extent. After all, she says, all things are possible and many a times, may even have happened and who can blame her for her perceptions? The book “The Year of the flood” is of course pone of the books of fiction. A beautiful book especially if you’re one that likes science fiction movies, if you like songs played in the harmonic minor, the pop songs, this is for you. It is an interesting piece of fiction dealing with a subject that is bitter-sweet in deed. Plot Summary Be that as it may, the novel begins in year 25, commonly known a s the Year of the Flood. Nevertheless, there is no explanation of what era the 25th…

Kratom Portland Kratom, also called mitragyna speciosa, is harvested from an evergreen pant growing naturally in Thailand, Malaysia, Papua Guinea, and Indonesia. Kratom has been used as a stimulant and a painkiller by native Asians for centuries. The natives used kratom powder to brew tea or chew raw eaves to enjoy its effects. How does kratom work? Kratom is sometimes referred to as mitragyna speciosa. It is harvested from an evergreen plant growing naturally from tropical forest in Southeast Asia. Kratom contains two major alkaloids that are mitragynine and 7-HMG, which affects the mu-receptors in the brain to offer some strong pain-relieving impacts. For this reason, some individuals use kratom to treat chronic pain, cancer pain and other medical conditions like anxiety and depression. Other people use kratom for a mood boost and energy boost, and they mostly take it in low doses. Some scientists believe that when kratom is used for pain management therapy, it offers better results as compared to other opioids. Currently, many researchers claim that kratom can be used as painkillers; however, more research is required…

First and Last Name Professor Class July 20, 2021 International Political Economy Globalization has not always resulted in positive outcomes. Various adverse effects abound regarding environmental repercussions of increased global production, deteriorating labor standards in various countries, and human rights abuses of all forms. These adverse effects establish a race to the bottom regarding crucial issues in contemporary economic factors. States need to take proactive steps to ensure that effective policies exist within their borders, which are not affected by influences from multinationals anti-competitive stunts. Multinationals use various methods to gain entry into countries whose regulations forbid unfavorable trade practices. Lacking alternative entry points through countries with stringent protective measures to the environment and labor standards in the country, multinational approach neighboring countries whose laws and regulations are accommodative of their improper trade and manufacturing practices (Drezner para. 1). For instance, a country with a strict policy on plastics may be unattractive to some Chinese plastic manufacturers, which have been proven to use unsustainable manufacturing methods. Moreover, nations with strict minimum wage policies or other strict labor laws may be…

1 a) How did the Tupamaros affect revolution worldwide? The Tupamaros challenged their country’s dictatorship by presenting successful revolutionaries, which made them win a lot of Uruguayan people. The Tupamaros had a more staying power and perceived success due to its government’s lack of ability to repress Uruguayan citizens. b) If the Tupamaros were so influential, then why did they ultimately fail in their own quest? Tupamaros failed because of the military’s attack, which caused a terrifying opponent, lack of help from the rural peasantry, a crease in laziness in security measures, and tight government repressive actions. c) What are the major issues surrounding Naxalite terrorism? The major issue of Naxalite terrorism is the formation of the CPI-Maoists, a rebel group of the Peoples War Group and the Maoist Communist Centre. d) How does this compare to the issues that gave rise to the Tupamaros The issues that gave rise to Tupamaros were the government trade instability that led to the attack of trade unions and people’s poor socioeconomic status in a rural area. Both the Naxalite terrorism and Tupamaros terrorism involves…

Appreciation Speech for Tony Stark Ladies and gentlemen, good evening. We are all gathered here to appreciate one man we have all learned to love, appreciate, and respect equally. Few people manage to identify their life’s purpose, and even fewer choose to commit to it as Tony Stark has. As I stand here before you, I have no doubt when I say that you have been an inspiration to millions of Americans and more others throughout the world. Your life has not been perfect; nobody has. In fact, the main reason we get inspiration from you is that you have had your own mishaps along the way. That has shown us that you are only human. But the unwavering dedication, the selflessness, and hunger with which you exhibit in your journey to right your earlier wrongs and make the world a haven is what is almost inhuman. Your intelligence is no secret; of course, you remind us of that whenever you have a chance. However, the fact that you choose to use this to serve humanity is no…

Literature Review             Several studies have been conducted to evaluate how lignocelluloses can e used to generate bioethanol.  According to Tran et al. (2019), there are two main processes involved in producing bioethanol from lignocelluloses.  The pretreatment process is carried out before fermentation and hydrolysis.  It increases the amorphous regions, which can easily be hydrolyzed. Pretreatment also liberates cellulose from lignin and hemicelluloses (Tran et al., 2019).  The pretreatment methods used can be physical, chemical, and biological. Mechanical processes decrease biomass to size and improve the contact surface. Thermophysical methods such as steam exploding reduce biomass crystallinity and cellulose polymerization degree. The chemical methods involve HCL and H2SO4 in the pretreatment of lignocellulose (Tran et al., 2019). However, highly concentrated acids are not recommended because they would result in toxicity and hydrolysis of hemicellulose and cellulose during the pretreatment process (Tran et al., 2019). Equally, diluted acids are not the best as they can generate furfural compounds, which may prevent microorganisms’ growth during the fermentation process. The biological process involves using microorganisms, such as Phlebia and Pleurotus, in the pretreatment…

Anomalies of camera lenses and remedies to image distortion The field of view in a camera lens is not perfectly normal, like in a human eye. In the latter, perceived projection falls under 550 of the total 1800 field of view thereby making a perfect image which is void of distortion. Cameras may be plagued with anomalies concerning their optical or mechanical components which later may cause poor quality images (Mishra, Rendleman, & Dughi, 2019).  For a camera to produce a similar image to a human eye, it ought to have a 43mm lens which equals the middle 550 in a human eye. However, lack of such perfect lenses makes the camera prone to side effects caused by refraction of light when capturing light to bend it towards the film or a digital sensor. There exist various types of lenses which include: glass lenses, crystal lenses, liquid lenses, and plastic lenses and all of these are never perfect. In photographic lenses, light passes through various elements prior to formation of an image on the camera. The whole process of transmitting…

Summary of the Impact of New CMS Initiatives on Organization’s Revenue Structure CMS plays a key role in providing direction to Healing Hands Hospital about its health care system and payments. During the embryonic stage, rapid cell division continues. The cells begin to differentiate themselves according to structure and functions. The placenta also forms. The central nervous system and brain structures are established at this stage. The fetal stage marks the end of cell differentiation. Body systems, including the brain, continue to develop during the fetal stage. 1 point    QUESTION 2 Part 1: List each of Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development.
