Communication is one of the critical skill that is practiced in everyday activities. Effective communication is the beginning of success in most of the organization. Additionally, communication is a beneficial skill, especially in our health care places. Handoff communication moves patient information from one person to another. Handoff s are most important where the patient’s potential becomes unstable; the patient’s transfer from the operation room (OR) to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). Unfortunately some times, there are occurrences of communication breakdown in the handoff. This can lead to a lot of medical errors in hospitals. Using Rosswurm and Larrabee’s Model, nurses are trying to implement handoff tools to enhance effective communication. The research will take place in a New York hospital in an 11 room OR and a 24-bed PACU.

Through Rosswurm and Larrabee’s Model, the article has shown how the theoretical concepts can be implemented in our lives scenario. Fieldwork has been done to give shreds of evidence about the paper. Secondly, enough references from other scholars have been used by the author to explain and support the article. The writer has also given the recommendations required to be taken by all health workers to maintain effective communication.

In conclusion, the research paper was well written and organized. However, the paper is based on the importance of implementing handoff tools but does not give the disadvantages of having the tools. The writer should try to explain the results of the research more broadly to strengthen the paper.
