The Circadian Rhythm Cycle
Circadian rhythm is a biological rhythm that occurs over a time of around 24 hours. The sleep-wake cycle connection to our natural environment light-dark cycle is a circadian rhythm example. The circadian rhythm function causes changes in the individual consciousness. The biologists concerned with the circadian rhythms are exploring several questions
regarding this day to day cycle. For instance, the circadian cycle seems to have evolved to ensure
the appropriate maintenance of sleeping periods and wake up despite daylight changes and
darkness everywhere on earth. This paper examines how the study of circadian rhythm and differences in findings.
The article of circadian rhythm and epilepsy examines circadian rhythm by the placement of volunteers under an environment that is clueless of time, for instance, caves (Khan et al., 2018). The article suggests that during the five-day-period of experimentation, the subjects slept and woke up usually and maintained a 24-hour sleep-rhythm. These indicate that human beings and other animals appear to be having an internal clock that continues to function, whether in the presence or the absence of external information. Additionally, under this circumstance, the internal clock is thought to be running. The article indicates that the biological clock detects a reduction in light in the night to synchronize the physiological processes. the research compared to the book is the same as they are both use light as the regulation of sleep (Chapter 4 n.d)
The circadian rhythm is a mix of personal instincts and individual sleeping habits (Lina et al., 2017). The biological clock appears to let us know when to perform certain activities, including sleeping. Also, the article suggests that not all people have a healthy circadian rhythm. Some individuals may have an in-born unhealthy circadian rhythm, and they may need to change their biological clocks for the sake of their health. To change the biological clocks, this article shows that the affected individuals should take a protein-rich breakfast. This is because protein is a source of strength and energy. Additionally, the report suggests that the affected persons should also get some sun, maintain regular exercise, lower stress. The article further insists on using stimulants, for instance, Armodafinil, Methylphenidate (Ritalin), and Amphetamines (Adderall), etc. Stimulants tend to promote the overall neural activity level. Drugs such as cocaine nicotine, amphetamines, cathinones, and caffeine are used as stimulants (Chapter 4 n.d).
