Technology Advancement
Advancement in technology has taken a major step in liberating the divergence of human pleasures and wants. It is blurring the lines between digital, biological, and physical spheres of systems of global production. The modern pace of technological advancement is exerting intense changes in how people work and live. People can’t see themselves without cell phones, computers, etc. It is affecting all industries, economies, and disciplines. Technology advancement is making life quicker and better. Of course, developments in technology have benefits and limitations, but its benefits are much more important in human lives. This argumentative essay posits that technological advancement is crucial to society.
To start with, technological advancement has brought significant benefits to digital communication. For example, graphene modulators have been adopted to speed up digital communication. The speed of these modulators is ten times higher than that of the current technology. Also, graphene modulators enable higher quantities of data packets. Underwater acoustic communication has also obtained a lot of attention as their applications are shifting from military to commercial. It is not easy to understand that phase-shift keying’s real logical demodulation could be attained in a non-cabled system. This is because random changes in phase would cause uncontrolled phase ambiguities. Due to technological advancement, technology can be used in matching and tracking exact carrier frequencies. However, tracking the phase of the carrier is a different thing. Digital technology has become so popular that most communication processes today are performed in the digital domain. This communication form is immune to noise, inaccurate signals, and all other stray signals that may infect important information.
Any learning results in changes in the human brain, and advancements in technology have allowed for access to effective infinite resources in education. The main characteristic of this resource is that its multimodality is beyond that of books. Simply, it offers information in the form of text, images, auditory, and video, etc. This multimodality has a considerable benefit to education because, for example, pictures besides text enhance the memory for that text. According to cite, technology has the capability of transforming mathematics instructions. Some technologies have been adopted to change the solving processes and impact the process of learning. However, it may be difficult for some scholars to choose the appropriate technologies for certain purposes and integrate them to maximize all their agency. Teacher’s role in the classroom and the content of their education programs are vital for using technology in teaching. Digital technologies are mediating mathematics, and they provide new types of representations, such as social distributed and dynamic representations. These digital instruments facilitate the visualization of concepts in mathematics in different ways of expressions. Such expressions foster versatile thinking, particularly when there is a dynamic link with these representations. In secondary education, these technologies are used to explore and discover correlations and model complex phenomena. The combination of various environments, such as CAS ad dynamic mathematics, provides new possibilities.
Another most important benefit of technological advancement is in medical care. It does not mean that access to information and communication is not crucial to people, but people’s ability to stay healthy and live long is due to technology. Development in technology has fostered the creation of robots that do surgeries. This is a pretty remarkable thing. Besides, technology has led to the creation of keeping people alive for a longer time as they await doctors’ help. For example, AEDs restart the heart of patients while breathing machines/tubes keep people breathing. It has become a trend to count steps using the help of gadgets. Although many people do not consider physical health to be as important as it should be, smart tech has made physical exercises and workouts more fun for people. Some of the common devices are smartwatches, fitness bands, Fitbit, and Fast-track reflex, among others.
Even though excessive use of the internet is sometimes associated with anxiety and depression, the development of technology has made the internet an effective tool for treating these mental health problems. For instance, a study by cite on computerized cognitive behavioral therapy aimed at improving depression and anxiety established that this approach, particularly through the internet, can offer acceptable, practical, and effective care for patients who might remain untreated. At the same time, cite reviewed nine randomized controlled tests of therapy based on the internet to treat addictions. Even though further research was essential to understand relative variations in their results, this approach efficiently attained positive changes in behavior. While it is still debatable whether this mechanism can replace face-to-face treatment with the physician, it is clear that the internet offers a workable and durable environment for services to disabled and remote people and patients who don’t want to be exposed and visible.
Even though technological advancement has led to an improvement in almost all sectors of people’s lives, it has some flaws, just like any other thing. One of its greatest disadvantages is dependence on modern technology. Human beings no longer want to think. Although a calculator’s invention is very impressive, people don’t make mental calculations, and their memories no longer work as human capital declines, unemployment increases. Devices are even replacing the human mind in some areas. Certainly, advancement in technology requires new laws and rules. For example, the use of the internet is an individual concern. However, atomic bomb invention cannot be the freedom of individuals. Indeed, it isn’t easy to implement regulations with the development of these technologies, like regulations concerning the impeding emergence of autonomous vehicles. Moreover, as most discoveries in technology focus on reducing human beings’ efforts, it implies that most of the work is automated. The result of this is less work for humans. Therefore, man is getting obsolete daily, as jobs are made redundant, and processes become automated.
In conclusion, the lives of humans are becoming increasingly engrossed in technology. Most communication is online, entertainment and leisure are now on video games and the internet, and mobile phones are now essential to connectivity and day to day organization. These lifestyle changes fostered by technological advancement bring about the question of what technology is doing to society. Adults should choose how to use technology, although this research can help make informed decisions. However, the developing brain is more vulnerable to influences in the environment than adults, and children are at the forefront of the revolution in technology. Therefore, the discussion on the adverse impacts of technological development should emphasize risks to children’s development that can be judged as most significant, considering both the consequences and likelihood of the hazard.
