Strategies for Opportunities Initial Post
In the first case, I suggest that John adopt the “accept” strategy. This means that John will accept and acknowledge the existence of risk. This usually refers to low-priority threats and can be used when it is impossible or cost-effective to eliminate hazards. I think John’s situation is classified as a low-priority risk because the only problem mentioned here is that half of John’s team has limited experience. Despite the limited experience, I can be sure that these team members have the necessary qualifications for the successful completion of the project and the requirements that should be primarily included in John’s team. Mitigation strategies may require combining each least experienced team member with a more experienced partner. This will smooth out the quality change from six very deviating quality levels to three more uniform work products. Although this may slow down the project, it will undoubtedly reduce the risk of project errors due to a lack of experience.
For the second case, I recommend an “exploit” strategy. This refers to the priority opportunities that organizations want to realize (Řeháček, 2017). Given the high cost of consulting services, it is essential that the services provided are 100% useful for the success of the Rajiv team and its projects. Using this strategy, Rajeev can benefit from his decision by making full use of a consultant’s services. In turn, this will allow you to check the time and money that will be saved. The fact that I learned from these programs’ interviews is that project risks can take various forms, such as threats, opportunities, and general project risks. Each method has a similar but slightly different solution. Interestingly, in Scenario 2, if the right strategy is not initiated, the likelihood of the Rajiv project’s success can be increased with potential risks.
