My name is Kizee; I am blessed to live in the Nkiru Nzegwu kingdom for more than a century, seeing and worshiping the Salt-cellars, especially for ivory salt-cellar (Madonna). I know most of you have never seen or told of one of a powerful African woman and her child on the lid (Madonna). She was the most adorable and lion-hearted woman on African soil. The child that you see on that salt-cellar is the ‘Messiah’ that most of you waited for to come to save you from the hand of the evil ones. I love how ‘Mama’ carry’s her child gently. Do you know why Madonna and the child were on top?
Madonna and child on the salt –cellar was a symbol of peace, love, and unity. That way, at the bottom of Madonna and child, you can see three people holding hands, depicting that the superior; Madonna kept holding people together because She was given the mandate by Supreme being to rule the land of salt and sea. I remember how we used to dance and sacrifice to gods, and everything we prayed could be held through Madonna’s salt-cellars.
Day and night passed, sun and moon shone our ancestors’ way everyone hoping and believing we shall meet Madonna one day. Daniel in the lion’s den on the base of salt-cellar depicted that our Supreme god protected his children who always never forgot his will and did and stood by god’s did taught by Madonna to her children.
