A sniffer dog practice is the help of a detection dog or sniffer dog which trained to detect substances using its senses, especially the sense of smell and help the handlers in trucking down these substances. The practice has its implications that make the handlers make unwarranted approaches brought by a dog’s false reaction towards a substance or a person. Bearing in mind that the court depends on the evidence obtained before it to make its judgments, the accuracy and reliability of sniffer dogs in helping retrieve these pieces of evidence highly anticipated. It’s for this reason; the research finds it vital to examine the implications of sniffer dog practice citing the causes that lead to the implications and the solutions needed to regulate the problem. The study will examine some of the implications resulting from the sniffer dog practice and reasons for the implications citing their solution. The research will use internet sources to come up with basing needed in solving the research problem.

Sniffer dog practice implications result to a variety of shortcomings in the field of criminal justice. Research should be done to establish the reasons leading to and regulative solutions to this problem to build trust in the practice. This topic requires more research on it to help in improving the services of sniffer dog practice towards tracking evidence needed for criminal justice.
