Roles of a Community Health Nurse

A community health nurse plays a critical role in ensuring access to care in a community. They assist in community organization, access to health care, and political and social change. Moreover, they partner with community agencies and community members to streamline access to care (Narwal & Gangadharan, 2017). Community health nurses have a crucial role in improving wellness in solving health, social, and population issues. Their specialty focuses on caring for older, low-income women, young adults, sedentary people, and significant risk in the community.

A community health nurse also creates a multi-level community-oriented solutions framework relating to a community’s specific health needs. In this manner, community health nurses understand that their practice considers society, politics, and psychosocial problems affecting patients and families (Bigi & Bocci, 2017). Practical experience concentrating on teamwork, coordination, and connections between urban healthcare professionals and several community members. These talents help to communicate and to identify solutions and support for community leaders and stakeholders.

Appraising a community’s resources strengthens the capabilities and services needed to address infants, teens, and families’ needs in the community. The appraisal reflects on the community’s capacities, including its residents, institutions, and organizations, that help the community understand health promotion activities. It offers a mechanism for creating, recognizing, and constructing programs and solutions, neighborhoods that foster and sustain children and families. For example, a community’s resources, like social clubs or churches, are important areas for sharing health promotion activities. These avenues present a level ground for sharing perfectives and needs in society. Therefore, praising these resources merges community assets and creates a framework for administering health interventions that are effective and tailored to their specific needs. Furthermore, community resources represent a common area for health providers to rely on when administering healthcare, especially in crisis times.
