Riots and looting
Back in 1967, riots and looting were all over America, and the guards were sent in the streets to restore law and peace. By then, most of American’s troop was in Vietnam as the country was invaded with war. There was an increase in protesters against the war as the troops enforced peace in the country.
During this time, job opportunities were rare as the war was on
its verge. The way of living was hard as there was no source of income. People suffered a lot during this period since the war was all over, and to get a job was impossible as many people were demonstrating in the streets. However, when the job vacancy was available, they needed highly skilled individuals. By this time, education systems were closed due to the war crisis. It leads to so many people not being educated and getting skills in various fields. As a result, these individuals ‘unskilled’ could not get a job. Whenever jobs were created, they needed higher-level skilled workers. It became hard for unskilled individuals to survive.
Most affected people were the youths who were trying to get a job and education. The lack of facilities also affected them as it was impossible to pass on skills without the right facilities. Apart from this, there was discrimination as jobs were given to specific people in different companies.
However, there have been some training programs to cater to the unskilled. As a result, this will increase job opportunities for the youths. The apprenticeship has also been created to pass skills to individuals. This technique will help the youths to rely on their own skills. They also increase the number of trainers and more programs.
