REVIEW
In all three plays, the use of anachronisms is evidently making them similar on many fronts. The use of anachronisms in all three plays is based on the timelessness of the message about Christ being portrayed to the audience. All three plays further employ dramatic principles such as humor to achieve a connection with the audience. The N-Plays come out as more chronologically arranged as compared to the other two plays. However, the use of anachronisms is more pronounced in the York Plays of Crucifixion. The use of mails in the latter is a clear example of how anachronism can relay information about an individual, tool, or time setting. The Second Shepherds Play uses anachronism to present the case for the presence of the three wise men. The only difference between the three plays is the characters used throughout the play.
