Additionally, every child should be given his/her right to dream big. Everyone wants a safe, high-quality school that will offer opportunities for the children to succeed. No parent wishes young people hard-pressed out of the institution to send to prison. On the other hand, there is no proof that zero-tolerance policies will make institutions safer. Currently, the rate of school drop-outs has been at a high level due to harsh discipline. The policy seems not to help the targeted population but rather to push them away. I think smart discipline will help out children learn how to correct their bad morals. There are always better ways to correct young people.
Nevertheless, racial disparities in the criminal justice system seem to threaten black people. I believe they have the strength to eliminate racial discrimination. The micro population’s strength to remain refocused, renewed, and reenergized for racial justice in America can help fight the barrier. Simultaneously, the statistics from the bureau of justice show that one in three black young men can expect a lifetime sentence. There is a need for intervention for the micro population to achieve racial equality.
Perhaps, the interventions currently employed to solve the vast pipeline should be; Restorative Justice and Positive Behavioral inventions and Supports or PBIS. The Restorative Justice is abroad terminology that defines a unified social organization purposed to promote peace and better ways of addressing social issues. The movement responds to violations of legal and human rights in society—moreover, the organization emphasizes restoring and building justice while focusing on less punishment. The movement encourages collaboration with schools, communities, and individuals. The policies employed by the ‘RJE’ have a positive impact on the School-to-Prison pipeline. There has been the elimination of law enforcement. For instance, on RJE in its action, students have been given time to correct their mistakes instead of being expelled. The movement’s main goal is to encourage students to apologize and rebuild good relationships with their institutions and the community.
On the other hand, Positive Behavioral, Interventions, and Supports (PBIS) comprises programs that encourage the build of a comprehensive approach with the aim of minimizing institution interruptions. The policies are made possible through the cooperation of active alternatives. The terms help students to correct morals through positive discipline. The programs address the school management on the need for positive discipline. As a result, the PBIS technique is helping to end the School-to-Prison Pipeline by encouraging student support. The school management plays a bigger role in ensuring this technique works. Student supports contributes to a higher percentile for the success of the student. To illustrate PBIS action, if a student fights school staff instead of being expelled, they will have to meet student support. In this case, a guidance counsel would see how the students need support. Therefore, support is required to discuss the long-term and short-term goals that students need to venture. Generally, the policies discourage the pipeline by contributing to interpersonal and supportive behavioral intervention that emphasizes healthy relationships and support.
