Vulnerable populations continue to increase as healthcare is changing. This is because vulnerable people are unable to meet the expenses that accompany the new healthcare systems in the United States. For instance, as healthcare is change, Americans are opting for comprehensive insurances that prove expensive for the vulnerable population. Some of the vulnerable populations include the incarcerated individuals, the elderly, veterans, and the uninsured. The paper aims at determining how the US Department of Health and Human Services has been involved in the improvement of care for vulnerable populations.
Research Outline on How the US Department of Health and Human Services Has Been Involved In the Improvement of Care for Vulnerable Populations
The paper provides a framework for research on how the US healthcare department has been involved in the improvement of care for vulnerable populations. The aim of the work is to provide the policymakers with a guide to maneuver health disparities. The research will aim to detect differences in healthcare and understand the factors that cause these disparities. Of importance will be to develop the measures or interventions that the US healthcare department has taken to improve care for vulnerable populations.
Notably, the future of Americans’ health in the 21st century has been captured in the vision of Healthy People 2010. The US Healthcare department has outlined an intervention or approach to ensure that vulnerable populations have been considered in the country’s health in practice, policy, and research. To do this, the government, through the ministry of health, has ensured that the perspective and resources of different entities and sectors have been joined together to work in a concerted manner to promote improved healthcare for vulnerable populations.
The project seeks to focus on the significant trends that affect the wellbeing and safety services that affect the vulnerable population. Fundamentally, the future of improved healthcare measures for vulnerable populations is exclusively dependent on reducing disparities witnessed in the country. As shown in the previous paragraph in this essay, vulnerable populations have more comprehensive health care needs because they comprise persons of different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Notably, these populations have shown to be different from the rest of the community. They have more comorbidities and illnesses. As a result, there is a need to interrogate and analyze the interventions that the government has put on board.
To effectively manage healthcare seekers characterized by limited-service access, chronic diseases, or being in healthcare facilities over and over again requires the US healthcare department to significantly change the traditional fee-for-service method and adopt a new way that focuses on the whole population. The project will seek to identify the starting point. Since vulnerable populations contribute immensely to how the country operates, which can be a good or bad thing for the healthcare organization, trying to find out where the rains started beating the department with regard to vulnerable populations is critical. The project also resonates around understanding whether the healthcare department has worked on patient attribution. Notably, service providers are, in most cases, responsible for patients who have not yet attend the clinic for an assessment. A descriptive qualitative research design will be employed in coming up with the findings of the project.
Ways That Have Failed In Assisting Vulnerable Population
Stratifying patients by risk is an essential aspect of improving population health. Besides, assessing risk scores and the use of fee-for-services delivery characterizes the US Health Department. As such, it has not been possible to entire to improve care for the vulnerable populations in nursing home care, home-based service, and hospital care.
