Reflection
- What peer review feedback did you choose to incorporate concerning your argument and why?
The peer-review feedback I chose was from module four discussion. There were no counterarguments in my essay and vague references which may not be familiar to my peers. I decided to incorporate that particular feedback because it is necessary to include counterarguments to strengthen one’s persuasive essay. I should have included a counterargument to show that I understand my opinion and that of others concerning the topic at hand.
- What challenges did you face in developing your argument? What could you have done differently?
The challenge I experienced while forming my arguments was looking for supportive evidence for my main points. Many drivers do not view using mobile phones as dangerous, and thus finding persuasive content enough was a difficult task. I feel my essay could have developed more if I could have found in-depth content to support my points.
- What peer-review feedback did you choose to incorporate concerning your exploration of the issue. Why?
I chose to use the idea of addressing those guys who do not view driving while driving as a dangerous activity. My peer pointed out that I should have included points and supporting content that can convince the group of people who feel that texting while driving is normal and not risky. The reason why I chose that feedback is that it is necessary to provide information that addresses all the audiences.
- What peer-review feedback did you choose to incorporate concerning your effective source integration? Why?
I decided to use the feedback on using peer-reviewed journal entries from scientific journals or use scholarly articles rather than use information from unfamiliar websites. Choosing unknown and unrelated websites questions the validity of the data used. Therefore, I decided to change the sources of my content to peer-reviewed journal entries.
- What writing strategies were most effective in supporting your argument given your audience, subject and purpose?
The writing strategies I found to be most effective were using a captivating opening paragraph that captures the attention of my audience. Writing as though I was holding a conversation with my audience made it easy to communicate the purpose of my message. I also feel the use of a friendly, sincere tone was beneficial. The clarity in writing is essential in writing and enables the use of a language that is simple to understand. Those were the writing strategies that worked for me in my writing process.
