RECOMMENDATION REPORT ON FREE COMPANY LUNCH
Introduction
Pizza is a round dish made of a flat, leavened dough with cheese and other different types of toppings such as meat and vegetables. It is then baked in a high-temperature oven. Although its origin can be traced to Italy, pizza is a popular food for many people worldwide, and particularly Yaletown, Vancouver is no exception. Various companies sell frozen, ready-baked pizzas to be reheated at home, whole ready-to-eat pizzas, or slices. Pizza customers can be walk-in, takeaway, or home/office delivery clients.
In this report’s context, pizza will be provided for the staff members of Animal Logic, a graphics Studio in Yaletown, Vancouver. The management has decided to avail of lunch for all workers to boost their morale and, at the same time, ensure there are no disruptions in the busy schedule of the company. I have researched nearby pizza joints to develop a shortlist of the best three options, as shown below. Table 1a

Findings
“ According to the table above, I deduced that Romano’s Pizza was the nearest facility since it is just a few minutes away. Pop’s Pizza and Pasta is 23 km away while Pizza Factory is 21 km apart. All the three cafes have favorable operation hours in that Pizza Factory is open between 10.00 AM to 10.00 PM, Pop’s Pizza and Pasta opens from11.00am to 8.00 PM. At the same time, Romano’s open from 10.00 to 4.00 AM the following morning.

Analysis
I had the option of choosing between lunch and breakfast and coming up with a suitable meal for all the 78 members of our company. After studying different outlets and the kind of meals they offer, I narrowed down on three according to their working hours, varieties, and costs. I noticed that most of the joints opened late, and therefore I ruled out the option of getting breakfast deliveries. I also considered cafes that would deliver their merchandise to our offices since some do not offer delivery services.
The criteria I used were operating hours, convenience, how far the cafes are from our offices for the prompt delivery, and their food varieties and costs. I assessed the freshness of their produce by getting reviews from their customers. I opted for Pop’s Pizza and Pasta, Romano’s Pizza, and Pizza Factory. The common factor with the three is that most of their food is sold out way before closing time, ensuring they have fresh products daily.
Conclusion
In conclusion, out of the lunch meals available, I chose pizza due to its convenience in packaging, nutritional value, and palatability. The pizzas come in various sizes, but I picked the 12 inch and 14-inch sizes as they are not too small, neither are they too large. As can be seen from the previous tables, Romano’s Pizza seems to be the best option because, unlike Pop’s Pizza and Pasta, and Pizza Factory, Romano’s prices are consistent for all flavors. The 12-inch size goes for $11.99 for all flavors while the 14 inch goes for $ 19.99 for all flavors. Pizza Factory’s 12-inch pizza ranges between $14.99 to $15.99 on assorted flavors, while the 14-inch size is between $19.99 to $21.99. Pop’s Pizza charges between $19.45 to $22.95 for the 12-inch length and between $24.95 to $27.95 for the 14-inch size. This means that of the three, Pop’s is the most expensive joint. Romano’s has the lowest prices for all the pizzas as compared to the other cafes.
The other factor that favors Romano’s is the distance between the café and Animal Logic. Although all three cafes are situated within Yaletown, Vancouver, Romanos is the nearest, being just 0.7 km away from our offices, while the others are over 20km away. This means that it will take a shorter time for Romano’s to deliver the pizzas, translating to lower transport costs and guaranteed hot meals.
Recommendations
I recommend that we order pizzas from Romano’s because of the following conclusions;
- Pizza is a wholesome meal as it contains different toppings that include vitamins and proteins, while the base is a carbohydrate. It will provide a well-balanced diet for our staff, and it will not be necessary to buy any accompaniment.
- Romano’s Pizza restaurant uses natural, organic, and local ingredients to prepare their food, thus ensuring that their pizzas are nutritious and free of health hazards caused by chemical fertilizers.
- Romano’s prices are consistent for all flavors of the same size, meaning that financial accountability will be easier. It will reduce the burden of having to draw different weekly budgets if the staff members opt to have different flavors.
- Romano’s Pizza restaurants offer huge discounts for bulk orders. This means that we automatically qualify for the discounts and therefore enabling us to spend less on lunches.
