Qualitative and Quantitative Data Analysis Methods Qualitative Research Methods Article Name: The coronavirus effects on consumer behavior and supermarket activities: insights from Greece and Sweden Authors: Michael Chrissos Anestis, Ioanna Karantza and Sotirios Vlachakis Source: Journal Article Date:2020 July The purpose of this research is to investigate the change of consumer behavior due to Coronavirus in Greece and Sweden. The study’s findings showed that the Coronavirus pandemic affected the supermarket consumer behavior in the two countries. The research is causal because it shows how Coronavirus has caused a change in the behavior of consumers. This is a case study because it focuses on Greece and Sweden, and the results portray the effects in those countries. Methods & Empirics, The primary mode of data collection was the email interviews, whereby data was sought from the supermarket managers in both countries. The managers gave crucial information on the purchasing behavior of consumers. Four managers were questioned from four major supermarkets, two from each state. The interview questions covered the existing practices of the supermarkets. Another primary data source was the analysis of such documents as blog posts and newspaper articles about purchasing behavior change. The sample of four managers is not representative enough of the target population. Secondary data involved analyzing situations related to the pandemic in both countries. The study was reliable because the managers were selected randomly, and the researchers had no personal interest in the research. The qualitative data tabulation tool used to analyze the interviews was the research Text Investigation Software. The tool is effective in qualitative data analysis in the field of social sciences. Critical Review The article conducted a study on important issues that have affected the business sector globally. The research objectives, the data collection methods, and analysis were appropriate because qualitative studies in social sciences do not need complex data collection and analysis techniques. This article is better than similar ones in the same discipline because it uses a simple and straightforward language for everybody to understand. The article uses a professional approach to the investigations and has a natural flow of ideas. Quantitative Research Methods Article Name: The influence of technology acceptance model (TAM) factors on students’ e-satisfaction and e-retention within the context of UAE e-learning Authors: Mohammad Ahmad Al-hawari and Samar Mouakket Source: Journal Article Date:2010 3(4) The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between technology and student retention and satisfaction through the use of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The study used surveys to test and measure empirically the relationship between the two variables. This is a case study conducted within the University of Sharjah, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The study is causal and the findings showed a close relationship between exposure to technology and student retention and satisfaction. Methods & Empirics The investigation was conducted using surveys to measure the relationship between the two variables. The target population was the students who were engaged in online gaming. Four main factors were used: the Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), perceived Use (PU), and the two TAM factors. The PEOU was extracted through a variety of investigations in the discipline. The PU items were obtained from the research studies done using the TAM model. Enjoyment or satisfaction was generated from different studies conducted on understanding the behavior changes in online gaming. A structured equation system of modeling was employed to analyze data and test the study hypothesis. Structural and construct models were used to ensure that the data is reliable. Critical Review The article is so enlightening because it combines all the relevant existing literature on the topic. Therefore, the authors’ models are tested and proved to be effective in measuring satisfaction and enjoyment. Further, the research uses relevant quantitative data analysis tools that give detailed findings for quantitative investigations. The sample size used in these investigations is enough to represent the target audience. This investigation’s findings are credible because of the representative sample size, trustworthy data collection, and analysis methods. All the evaluation methods in the study have been meticulously followed to ensure that the findings can be replicated. The article has a clear, concise, and natural information flow and data collection, and analysis methods, which are the important element of any study, is comprehensive.
