New York police department is investigating a yesterday evening fatal shooting incident that happened yesterday at around 6:50 P.m. at Jones Street, Manhattan. Officers and detectives from the police department were dispatched at 7:00 p.m. to respond to the shooting. They arrived at the crime scene, and they found some residents offering some first aid to the gunshot victim, who was later identified as later recognized as a 34-year-old Dennis Jackson. Jackson was transported to Bellevue Hospital Center by an ambulance, where he succumbed to the injuries.
Upon arriving at the crime scene, the officers used a yellow crime scene tape to cordon the area and took some pictures of the deceased. This is because, in such incidents, the victim’s photos matter a lot. Later the Forensic Service Science Division (FSSD) did a thorough examination of the deceased’s car. The car at the crime scene was a saloon car and was found with three bullet holes. All three holes were on the left side of the car at the front end. Meaning, the shooters aimed from the front. Inside the car, the police found a blood pool on the driver’s seat and the back seat. The radio in the car was missing. The officers didn’t know whether the car had the radio or the shooters unfixed it. Then the officers drove the car to the police station.
The police went further and interviewed people who were in the vicinity when the shooting occurred. According to the three witnesses, the saloon car took a corner; it slowed down and stopped. The driver of the car was taking a phone call. Immediately came two motorbikes, they stopped in front of the car and started shooting at the car. Everyone in the surrounding ran to save his or her life. Once the shooting stopped, one of the shooters broke into the car; in a span of a minute, he came out with something in his hand then they took off.
Next, the officer observed the car’s surroundings; they found four bullet cartridges. Luckily they were CCTV cameras mounted on the adjacent building. The police contacted the owner of the building to provide them the CCTV footage. The owner came and gave them the footage. The footage shows the two motorbikes and shooters. The shooters are two black men. One’s tall and slender, and the other one is short and muscle built. Their faces are masked, and the motorbikes do not have the number of plates. It seems it was a well-orchestrated crime.
Today in the morning, the officers visited the hospital and examined the body of the late. They found that one bullet hit Jackson in the neck while the other two bullets hit his left eye. The neck bullet destabilized the neck area while the other two bullets damaged the deceased’s left side skull. The other body parts were fine; they were not affected by the bullets. The police left the hospital to the police station to further examine the car; they recovered the fingerprints left by sweat transfer onto the surface of the right door. In addition to the fingerprints, there were footwear impressions on the right side of the car. They photographed the footwear impression and took a cast; they found that the footwear impression was not similar to that of the deceased.
The other thing found in the car was the tool mark impression at the car’s space. They found that a hard object contacted the softer surface of the car. This might be used in the removal of the car’s radio. In the car, there were also some documents. Most of the documents are medical documents and medical magazines. This implies that the deceased was either a medical student or expert or transporting the materials to another place.
The police had to record some statements from the deceased family. They found that the deceased has one wife with three children, two boys, and one girl. The wife of Jackson is called Lenah. According to Lenah, Jackson was a medical officer and, as usual, leaves the house in the morning for work. The deceased runs his own medical facility, and he comes home every evening. His arrival time ranges from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jackson was neither a smoker nor a drunkard. He was a family man, and he ensured he spends some time with the kids. In regard to Lenah, Jackson had no business partner in his business operations. He has never received any threatening message in any form that’s either by phone or email. The wife also said that the deceased was a cool person, and he never loved confrontations and publicity. In fact, he never owned any firearm.
The police are looking for the two suspects that were captured by the cameras. Because their faces are covered, it has made it difficult to identify them, but soon the officers will use all their expertise to nap them. Already, they have mounted pictures of the culprits in public places. Anyone who knows the prescribed attires worn by the culprits should report to the nearby police station. This will help the police officers to identify the criminals. And if you come across any motorbike without a number either parked or on the road, you should report. Lastly, the public should be vigilant.
