White Privilege
White privilege in a layman’s language gets alluded to like the feeling of entitlement or having power or control on some of the happenings in association with the race. The white privilege brings the perception of those people who are of the white race are advantaged or superior to other people of other races. It generally conspires against the rule of nature of just for all whenever or wherever they exist. It has been a perception that has implanted its roots in American society and has seen widespread discrimination since time in ancient slavery. The white race being the majority, has grown with this perception of entitlement at the expense of the other races and people of different colors and a wrongful act. Due to its accommodation in the society, the white privilege concept has been accepted and acts as if it is a provision of law to be privileged when you are white. The paper assesses Mclntosh’s argument on the article with her stand, the existing belief, and develops solutions that are reasonable to the indicated state.

White privilege to her is more of a gene-type other than an option of choice: In the article, it is clear that Mclntosh views white privilege from a different angle, different from the majority. She takes it that the existence of white privilege is one thing that she and many others never asked for or even desired but just found themselves in that oblivion. It means that in the first place, the existence of this white privilege for her has nothing to do with her liking but the luck she and others found themselves in after being born of the white race. According to her argument, she takes that finding herself in this state was nothing that she had control of, but being in a society that accepts such a happening to exist without doing anything about it and hence passed on to generations as they come. The full composure of this understanding is that all those born of the white race do enjoy this privilege even though it does not get any meaning or cannot be identified as a wish one who has made given choices. Therefore, Mclntosh holds the opinion that white privilege is more of a gene that is passed on to people born from that lineage and to which she has no control over by being considered privileged.
It’s a right for all people, not whites: Existing as a privilege for the whites, it has no center or basis for other people of different races. Mclntosh articulates from her opinion that white privilege is something that ought to be spread across the other races and not only be a preservative for the white race. For example, Mclntosh indicates that on the mention of national heritage or civilization, she gets told how people of her race made it what it is in the current state. She opines that the entitlement here cannot be said not to be good for even those from different races have acknowledged that by being white, one can achieve and satisfy the desires of the lives. In relation to the arguments or opinions made by Mclntosh have found myself agreeing with her provided by me being a white individual. In all her submissions, I have agreed with her opinion due to the various reasons endowed below.
Society perception has made things turn the way they are in the scenario: I agree with Mclntosh’s opinion about the white privilege referencing that the society has accepted to turn things the way they are and not what they are supposed to exist. In this approach, her opinion of changing the narrative about racism and white privilege was possible only with the white individuals accepting to change their attitudes. In this discovery, it is correct to assert that white privilege’s dominance has only been stirred up by the society itself, accepting something they know is wrong and does not change to make it right. Going by the people’s perceptions about white privilege, little can be done but have the notion continue subjecting people to racism and limiting the other races from enjoying their freedom.
The need for diversity and justice for all people: In her submissions, Mclntosh outlines even though there exists the perception of white privilege, it is more in paperwork other than the reality and hence reflecting what is seen for men being in control. I agree with her on the need to have diversity and justice to other races in the United States for enjoying such a privilege while denying others does not help sustain the livelihood. It is good to have a society that you cannot be judged about your race or color and instead be weighed on merit matters. Since the perception of white privilege does not guarantee a free nation, existing in society as a fugitive and lacking that freedom to associate with others without being judged in reference to your background does not give a reason to enjoy being part of that society. I, therefore, pen down an agreement with Mclntosh’s opinion on the need for diversity and justice for all the people to live in a society that guarantees free will.
