I agree with you that the Orem Self-Care Model of nursing aims at helping clients perform activities that help in maintaining or improving their health status. On the other hand, the Roy Adaptation Model aims at allowing clients to reach their highest level of functioning through adaptation. The two models differ in that the Orem Self-Care models assume that self-care is sufficient to maintain one’s health. This model argues that clients only require to be guided on how to maintain their health. According to this model, clients need to be told what to do, and they will perfectly do it. If clients follow what they are advised to do, they can maintain and improve their health status (Catalano, 2015). On the other hand, it is true that the Roy Adaption models assume that clients have an input and output stimuli, and believe that they can adapt to any condition depending on the stimuli they are exposed to.

It is true that Orem Self-Care theory believes that people should be responsible for their health. The model believes clients should be self-sufficient. The Orem-Self Care model focuses primarily on the client, and that client can engage in activities that can help them live a healthy life. Thus, this model believes that clients should be able to take care of their lives. They should engage in activities such as exercising, and healthy feeding habits for them to live a healthy life.
On the other hand, just like you stated, the Roy Adaptation model allows a client to attain their highest level of health through adaptation. Thus, clients should be given the necessary skills to enable them to adapt to an environment. Adaptation makes them develop immunity and other mechanisms to enable them to live a healthy life. Finally, although the two models are based on different assumptions, they aim to make the client live a comfortable life. The two models focus on ways that can make the client live a healthy life.
