Nazi army
The allied forces planned and launched invasion to the Nazi army marking the largest invasion in history. The event was very remarkable, as the American general Eisenhower coordinated the operation for attacking Germany to defend the western flank. Also at the same time fought the soviets at the east. He coordinated this using notes and tactics to the Nazis. Despite America wanting to be free from the army the later got involved, furthermore general Eisenhower led the operation overload.
Britain and France did not trust Russia and no one adored Germany, but Russia was worse. Britain and France got involved during the Germanys invasion of Poland. Furthermore Paris was taken over by Germany. U.S started first got involved by supplying the axis with cash and carry to fight against Germany. Later they changed it to lend and lease. However, it wanted to remain neutral. Later US froze their assets and exportation of oil to japan was cut off, this lead to an economic declaration of war as US clogged all their trade with japan. Japan conquered Korea and bombed Pearl Harbor and they drove US out of Philippines. Later Germany declared war on US.
General Eisenhower did keep the note because he took responsibility for his decisions very seriously, as exhibited by the note he carried all the time with him during his planning times. The note was a constant reminder of the personal accountability that he had taken for the fortune of the consensus in Europe and America. Also, he had made the decision of sending so many men into the battle and certain death. Furthermore, the note he had written in instance of catastrophe which he sought to publish in the Normandy landing was not fruitful. The blame could have been attributed to him alone. Therefore the document shows Eisenhower’s traits as a responsible war leader. And in case he would die in the battle he wanted to make sure the reporters got the message. He had done the planning and implementation of the operation overload himself.
During the invasion day troops from the allied merged together to form a larger troop of 156,000 troops which caught the Nazis by surprise due to the thinning state. The invasion target was the Normandy coast. Ships, landing crafts, vehicles and planes were used during D-day for the attacks. The Nazis suffered a lot due to the army thinning state and unpreparedness. The estimated numbers of the captives from the allied were around 10000 that day and more than 4,000 died on the spot. Over 326,000 allied troops had crossed the beach with heavy equipment. Later Paris was liberated and Germany surrendered. Therefore the mission of the D-Day was successful.
The D-Day attack of the northern Europe by the Allied forces was worth the sacrifice since few days before the D-Day the allied forces had been restricted and limited to access Western Europe by the Nazis. Therefore the operation was essential for a full invasion. The Nazis forces were depleted during their defeat on the beaches thus giving the allies time to advance. Furthermore, without the D-day, Hitler would have deployed many of his armies to destruct the red army. Moreover he had a great defensive strategy which detrimental to the Nazis. Therefore without the invasion he would have enough time to develop weapons and army to conquer berlin.
