Decision making is the process of making choices by identifying the best way of solving problems; it includes gathering information and assessing alternative resolution. Decision making ought to be made keenly and has several importance which includes the proper utilization of resources and evaluation of employees on promotion matters. On the other hand, problem-solving refers to the mechanism of identifying things or procedures which are not running normally and selecting alternatives and implement a solution. Problem-solving retains a smooth running of a maybe organizational setup or individual plans (Keshavarz et al.,2016).

Decision making and problem-solving are commonly employed in many organizations to avoid their fall. For example, an organization sales may be sharply going down such that it is in danger of seizing to exist in the market freezing salaries despite its culture of increasing them annually would be my best decision of solving that problem till sales stabilize. Collecting different views from the workers and experienced outsiders would help believe it’s a fair decision before presenting it to the whole organization. When presenting the reached decision I would begin by helping the workers in weighing the seriousness of the matter. Sales are the main source of income in the organization and when there no sales, there would be no salaries (Rousseau,2018).

Decision making and problem-solving can also be employed in solving not only organizational matters but also national matters. Decisions can be reached through various methods that ensure the problem is fully solved, below is a decision tree diagram that will help the government to decide whether to introduce vaccination before Covid 19 strikes or after it has stricken. The outcome of the tree recommends the government to introduce vaccination before the flue strikes since its more economical than it has stricken.

In making decision various support tools rely on objective and mathematical data, for example, the use of decision support software. Ethics condemns the use of this software since machines don’t have life and man was created to have control of everything on earth. In making the decision a person may collect too much information such that deciding which one to prioritize becomes a problem. This makes one spend much of the time thinking too much and consulting. This problem of analysis paralysis can be overcome by avoiding each decision by the expected outcome, the one with the most devastating outcome is prioritized.
