The aim of the primary level of health promotion is to ensure that health is maintained and promoted and may have certain measures within it to make sure that the person doesn’t fall sick. The moment a person takes some action to prevent disease, primary prevention can then be taken as active. Examples of such measures include putting on a helmet while taking a ride on a bicycle, and brushing the teeth as suggested by the dentist (Hainey et al., 2016). Interventions taken can be viewed as primary prevention that is passive, e.g., the moment the department of water in a community decides to ass fluoride in the water system to act as a tooth decay preventive measure. Before an illness or an injury arises, primary prevention happens. This may, therefore, engage preventive medications, like wellness examinations and vaccinations, so that illness contraction can be prevented.

People in good health generally involve themselves in primary prevention by acquiring all their recommended immunization shots, getting their annual physical exam, and the shot meant for the seasonal flu so that the flu cannot be contracted when winter comes (Hainey et al., 2016). The moment you take an apple daily, you engage yourself in primary prevention with no thoughts about it.

Secondary prevention concentrates on the initial detection and medication of illness procedures before they continue and result in damages that cannot be easily repaired (Hainey et al., 2016). Thorough giving education to patients concerning the promotion of health, medical practitioners who are supporters of these kinds of screening can employ interventions to prevent more complications. For instance, an individual could have an overweight of 10 pounds and, at the same time, have hypertension. They can, therefore, undergo heart sickness screening so that heart problems can e evaded early.

Tertiary prevention happens the moment an illness procedure has resulted in some permanent damage. This prevention stage major on assisting the patient in attaining some impression of normalcy and adapting back into their community and to their personal lives.
