Background Statement
The problem is that Marty is taking advantage of every situation that comes her way as an excuse not to report and attend to her duties as required. Firstly, she used to make patient visits to area city hospitals as part of her job. Secondly, after taking full responsibility for her mum’s health issue, she does not participate in an in-office job. The co-workers are not happy about the issues and have registered complaints to her supervisors. Lastly, her lack of communication and dispensation of her duties as expected has led to calls to have a new nurse brought in to take her position. The total of these issues has contributed to an unhealthy working environment between Marty and coworkers.
Major Problems and Secondary Issues
The major problem is that Marty is not communicating her problems to the coworkers. Besides, Marty does not seem to appreciate the efforts they make to cover up her duties whenever she is away. This has led backbiting and hostile working environments with complaints reaching the management. The secondary issues are that her work is at stake as coworkers ask for the recruitment of a nurse who would take her duties. Also, the patients she is supposed to visit do not receive her attention anymore.
Your Role
I am an outside advisor who will discuss the benefits of good work ethics as well as observing organizational goals, morals, and behavior.
Organization Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths the major university hospital has had a reputable working environment with everyone taking their duties until lately when the issue of Marty gets to the supervisor. Weakness some members are not working as expected, which compromises the goals and objectives of the team working.
Alternatives and Recommended Solution
The major university hospital should mobilize a conference or a meeting from where the goals of the facility are repeated, and regulations, morals, ethics governing the operations emphasized (Murray, 2010). Besides, the workers need to be reminded that a good working environment guarantees reputable outcomes.
Evaluation
After the conference or meeting, employees will have in mind that they are governed by various work morals, ethics, and behavior, and hence no one will be reminded to attend to their duties. If complaints declines and better duty dispensation is reported, we will know that there has been a change in morals and work ethics.
