Generating new knowledge
Introduction
Generating new knowledge and validating existing experience with the evidence taken from theory is the key to why research is conducted. It is achieved mainly after getting in touch with systematic and science-based theory to answer specific researched questions. For one to produce effective research, one should use science-based methods. The following is intended to analyse specific concepts of principles of research and evidence based practices and how to implement them to enhance advanced practices in nurses. (Brian and corner, p. 17)
Conducting a research and evidence based practices enhances quality in all the settings that aids the professional practices and also it nursing services that are offered to patients can also be seen and lastly it enhances nursing services to spread out their practices. This can be achieved only if the nurses of all levels are involved. Some nurses might not be aware of their importance in their contribution to coming up or making new skills and even improvements and might not be able to distinguish those process.
Patients care can only be improved and be much more effective when the nurses involves themselves in research activities. Research provides new information that can be used to review and give corrections to old misunderstandings and also it gives way for new treatment methods that comes up with a new way of doing things much better and easier.
The skills of information literacy are beyond just understanding the basics of foundation. When one is able to comprehend the information available it can help one to transform it into the skills one can use. Nurses actually needs knowledge that brings much difference in their practices and gives them much more chance of remaining in their field of study. (Kozlesky and Elizabeth, 29)
When nurses lean to proficiently process and make use of the published research, this helps them to increase their level of information.
This helps nurses during their cares to make best decisions Interpretation of data is other analytical skills are taught to nurses in their nursing schools. (Ioannidis et al, p.13)
Evidence based practices needs one to give clinical decisions and care based on research outcomes. This enables nurses to actually have a basis of their work on research activities. Nurses gets their maximum guidance and establishes their best practices from the accepted peer-review published data. This is an evidence based practice and has a free biased results that have been researched and confirmed and reproduced under the same conditions of research. Good research standards influence the nursing practices. (Cater at el, p, 14)
When nurses are evaluating any published research, they consider their how valid are they, how reliable is the research and also how is it relevant to study the research and finally they also consider the results of the study too. For not all study can be applicable to all patients. However, there is also need for them to evaluate keenly every researched work before putting it into practice. Evidence based research helps one to become much more skilful when doing such evaluation tests and coming up with one results based on the conclusion attained about the used information. (Padulo, Johnny, et al., p. 25)
In conclusion, these research evidence based method helps nurses to also educate patients for certain chronic illness. It also enhances nurses to create awareness to the patients and this leads to reduction in number of inpatients being admitted from some controllable illness. This evidence based method also aids nurses to adapt to new changes that are being introduced by technology that comes with some new improved developments. This also enhances nurses to have an easy time even during their research works or during their higher education.
