Difficulty blending multiple personalities into a cohesive and unified team.
This has been a major challenge for various teams in our organization. Most of the teams affected by this challenge include a special project team, executive suite and operating team. People personality vary in terms of experiences, opinions, backgrounds and views, thus posing a huge threat to teams creating opportunities and issues in an organization. However, if an organization can come into alignment and agree on various common objectives, diverse teams can meet the goals of an organization, meet the threat of competitors and meet the demands of customers. However, if leaders want to stay in their offices, refuse to address some shared problems and lack the entrepreneurial mindset, the organization is likely not to achieve their goals.
Moreover, leaders need to know that when building teams, one does not just pick people because of their technical skills. One must consider their varying personalities which may affect the way they work with each other. These personalities need to be balanced in a team to promote harmony. Teams that work well together increase productivity while making the company more cohesive. The following are various ways to ensure harmony in a team.
Communication:
Strong teams ensure good communication in an honest, respectful, open and clear way. Supervisors and managers also need to make sure that they communicate effectively to the organizations. Teams members should also ask questions whenever they want clarity on issues. This will assist in building stronger and dynamic relationships.
Respect individuality
When working with teams’ managers need to be considerate on the importance of individuality. Managers need to be sure of what a certain individual brings to the table.
Encourage creativity
Every team member should be encouraged to become creative. Negative comments that discourage others need to be avoided while brainstorming should be encouraged.
