Define fluency as it pertains to reading.

Fluency can be defined as reasonably accurate reading, at a good rate, and with suitable expression. When discussing fluency, three elements are essential to note. They include rate, expression, and accuracy. These elements should be understood in turn. Rate refers to the speed at which a person reads text. Another common delusion about rate is that faster is always better. So the faster you read a text, the better it sounds for the audience (Dowd, 2019). However, some people might disagree that since they assume people reading quickly may not have good comprehension. Speed does not facilitate understanding, and therefore a fast reader most probably is not a fluent reader.

An expression is an essential aspect of oral reading. Some of the components include tone, pitch, volume, rhythm, and emphasis in a speech. Some researchers have also referred to expression as prosody. However, there is minimal evidence that proves reading influences reading comprehension. Therefore, a good expression can be an outcome of comprehension. Accuracy is the most crucial factor in reading fluency. You must be accurate in reading to be considered a fluent reader. The text must be read using a certain level of accuracy for a reader to understand what a text means (Dowd, 2019). Content marketing strategy deals with creating and sharing information relevant to candidates. The process is done to attract people best aligned with your service or product. The content can be customized to present what someone has learned over time.

Why is it important for students to read fluently?

Fluency in reading is essential for comprehension and motivated reading. This has been described as a bridge between early and later reading phases. In the first reading phases, students develop oral language and phonemic awareness, while in later reading stages, characters are increased by reading skills. Reading fluently focuses on increasing visibility and traffic on classroom platforms. This is done by providing users with the knowledge they value and want to share in their studies. Sharing of content helps and increases search result relevance. When students don’t develop enough fluency levels, they can get stuck and become unable to facilitate comprehension or enjoy the process of reading.

Briefly describe an activity you can use in your classroom to help students build reading fluency.

I would work on students with weak fluency skills. Weak fluency skills can change vocabulary development and comprehension. This readily affects struggling readers who usually lag behind their peers while reading. Over the years, students fall further behind because of reading far less text while the good readers get more prosperous due to reading more text than their less capable peers. Effective fluency is the process of separating audience members into groups based on their gestures. Automation is the best way to make consumers feel special. This is because it allows teachers to create changes effectively depending on who is reading. The students’ ability to become fluent readers depends on learning to identify many words on sight.
