Critical and Sympathetic Views Regarding Hezbollah
Hezbollah is a Lebanon-based Shia political party and militia group that is for Islamic people. The paramilitary wing of the Hezbollah is the Jihad Council, and its political wing is the loyalty to the Lebanese parliament’s Resistance Bloc party. The precursor for success in the military-political organization’s success is the comprehensive activities of its social service section (Love, 2010). Love continues to explain that half the organization’s budget goes to the social services sector, such as education, health, and women’s groups. As some of the funding that goes towards social servicing Lebanon comes from Zakat(charity), most of it comes from human trafficking, profits from drug trafficking, money laundering, and other illegal business.
The organization has been associated with terrorism in a lot of cases. Though being successful as a political-military organization, Hezbollah, remains anti-Israeli virulently and relentlessly hostile to the hegemony of the Americans (Norton,2007). Many Lebanese see the organization as an existential threat as it was well known for blatant acts of terrorism in the 1980s. Studies show that it is potentially more dangerous than the Al Qaeda (Diaz and Newman, 2006).
