Creative thinking
The experiences that I have gotten have a lesson to my side. They have exposed me to the field, and I have been able to appreciate what was taught in class. The experience gained have been a drive to exercise what was being taught to the customers and show out my skills that I have acquired. The experiences have even fine-tuned my skills even better. For example in talking to the customers, I have perfected the interaction on top of the concept that was taught. I can create a good rapport with the customer at the pharmacy. More so, experience has given me the dynamics that is outside the classwork that is the vital field. This, therefore, further equips me a lot to be able to handle the diversity in the society and the people that I serve. The skills gained through experience makes me a proper candidate to move outside and be able to serve. The experience has given me the courage since I have understood the importance of the skills. It, therefore, makes me bold enough to use the craftsmanship obtained in class to work. The boldness makes it possible to face the responsibilities with easy and be accountable for every task done in the Pharmacy.
The abilities are essential for the person to be responsible. The knowledge that I have a vast within the course of the study is related to the field of pharmacy, and therefore it won’t be a big issue to fail to be responsible. The educational abilities make me be in the position to handle the roles allocated by the organization. They as well condition me to be accountable for the task that I manage in the Pharmacy related aspects.
The knowledge that has reaped in classwork as well as from the colleagues makes me skillful to do the responsibilities allocated to me. The experience gives room for the correct course of action to be taken in the line of my work. It makes me be held responsible to the task that I do handle with great easy as compared to the state where no information can be obtained. The knowledge puts me in a prime position to take up the roles and experts that the organization needs. On top of this, the knowledge achieved allows my practice to be by the organizational tradition.
Clinical practice- On this basis, I state beyond reasonable doubt that is good knowledge in the pharmacy services. I can effectively engage in the several of the clinical pharmacy services which necessitate that I have broad information as far as pharmacy is concerned. The knowledge in the field enables to be able to accurately dispense drugs in accordance to the prescription. Similarly, the knowledge behind advising on appropriate medication to be taken for minor illness is at my fingertips, and thus I do offer to people at any place. The proficiency in the clinical practices is also evident in the abilities that I exhibit in practice. The clinical pharmacy concept easily flows while offering services to the customers as I rarely make errors. The various principles in the clinical practice are applied in the abilities that are demonstrated in the pharmacy center. The skills in the clinical practice are now and then enhanced per each practice that is made in the clinical service.
Team participation and communication- The communication skills that I practice ensures that I keep into consideration every person. I have a good listening ability so that I can understand the customers as well as the team members to offer services in a productive way possible. Furthermore, the communication is clear and vocalized. This ensures that the other party can understand what I talk. This tool helps me a lot in providing that the customers understand the instructions correctly as far as the use of various drugs is to avoid drug toxicity. I do employ confidence in the aspects I talk. The proper communication ability as well helps build a good relationship with other team members as well as have a good rapport with the customers to adhere to the instruction given. In communication, I am always open minded as well as accommodating. This makes it possible to adopt various people with diverse ability and approaches, and at the end of it, all have a common platform for effective communication. Respect is an ingredient in the communication employed to ensure that the professionalism is adhered to. I like engaging with the team members to learn from them as well as they can learn from the skills and knowledge I have in the field. Teamwork and the benefits that stem from it is what I advocate in with other scholars at work. I have the skills to build up teamwork tailored towards efficiency in the clinical services as well as for intimal interaction.
Leadership and professional development- In the work, I ensure that I lay down control for other people to follow. This is through the hard work and dedication at work. It makes me a role model for those fewer experience workers to follow suit. Through the sharing of ideas, the proper understanding is acquired. I demonstrate guidance to those who are less skilled in the pharmacy. This is to build a team of proficient workers in the pharmacy. The guidance that I offer is from the demonstration of the services that are provided in the pharmacy to the concepts and principle important in the pharmacy services. I educate the less experienced employee so that they can be better than me so that they can as well teach the other generation. The interaction session with the less skilled workers helps me develop the necessary management skills as well as apply the leadership skills that I have. I also get a chance to exhibit professionalism in developing the other workers to be better people.
In my placement, there is this time where I took a lot of time to advice the customer on an appropriate medicine to use for the treatment of a migraine headache. He came to the pharmacy with the preformed mind on the drug to be taken which was not prescribed by the doctor. According to the man, the drug makes him experience minor side effects such as fatigue and general body weakness. He, therefore, did not want it. I had to take time and explain why the drug is given best for his condition. I remember I talked to him about a whole spectrum of the drugs available for his health and the reason why they were not given. He was not ready to change his mind. I took an extra step of allowing him to talk to his wife so that she can convince him. To me, I saw this as being too much, and it was not my role to persuade him to do so.
It was on a Thursday while I was in the pharmacy session where the customer came to take drugs but there was a particular drug that was not prescribed but canceled by the doctor. When I offered the drugs to the client, he was resistant to leave the reason being that I had not given him all drugs. I was tired that time, and I was quite furious with the customer until I was about to call the guard to take him out. He claimed that I had not read the prescription well as the doctor told him that the drugs should be four instead of three. I had to change my attitude and put myself in the old man’s shoe. I talked to him slowly and interpreted every prescription to him until he found the essence why they are three. He left happily.
In promoting collaboration and cooperation in the team, it reached a time where I had to set the policy governing the team participation. This included use of polite words, allow everyone participation as well as to stick on the objective of the task assigned. This allowed the work to be done very fast with the minimal effort being used.
