Contribution of Nurses Through Research
Nurses play a major role in the health facilities they are the backbones of the institution. They play vital roles, such as attending and educating the patients. For nurses to keep up with the changing world in their profession, they have to research to improve their medical professional knowledge. Research helps to invent new ideas that greatly help solve existing problems in the medical set up. Thus, this essay explains how nurses contribute to their profession through research.
Research enables nurses to identify the most effective and efficient healthcare facility practices to improve patient care. Every day, there is new information being realized in the medical profession and without research, nurses will not understand the information well (Scala & Mackay, 2019). Research helps in correcting old misunderstanding and create a new way for better treatment procedures and protocols. Through research, nurses can respond to changes in the medical profession, patient populations and government rules. The information learned in school can become outdated anytime, but new findings are made as nursing training continues to change through research. Hence nurses assist new graduates in the profession to keep up with new progress. New developments are discovered through research, which can improve evidence-based care, which is vital in the medical profession.
In conclusion, research is very vital in any field, especially in the medical profession hence medical profession should invest heavily in research to offer the best healthcare. Research helps to discover new treatment methods to improve healthcare. Every nurse should be determined to participate in research to prevent being outdated in the medical profession. Nurses should use their findings to educate new graduates in the medical field.
