Christianity And Its Impact on Health
Among the numerous religions globally, Christianity is one of the largest with the highest percentage of the world’s population. It is known for its influential aspects such as philosophy, beliefs, writings, worship, families, and society. It is as well prominent for the followers’ unique values and how imperative they are in society at large. These significances include mental therapies provided by their organization to people with mental issues. The beneficiaries of these Christian services include people living with HIV, cancer, and other chronic diseases that affect these individuals’ mental capacities. Additionally, other Christian services include giving to the needy and providing personnel to the healthcare facilities. This essay is a discussion of aspects of Christianity and its impacts on health in society.
Philosophy of Christianity is the love of Devine insight whose cornerstone is the existence of Word, with God and which was God. The capacity of the love of the divinity knowledge comes from the fact that there is an understanding that comes from only God. Additionally, this love is rooted in the belief that there is a spirit in man which connects him to God. Generally, Christian philosophy is regarded as the guide of life. It entails the significance of proper guidance in matters about Christians’ transitory life, together with the values of life everlasting. The Christian philosophy also entails matters like the relationship between reason and faith, grounded in the concrete Christian subjects, supernatural issues, and nature and fate of the philosophy itself.
Beliefs in Christianity are the conviction among the followers, distinctive interpretation and opinions of the Holy Bible, and the pure traditions on which the Christian religion is based. The Christians believe that God has a son Jesus Christ who is totally Devine and, at the same time, totally human and that only through him they can have eternal life. They have confidence that they have to follow and obey the teaching of Jesus Christ for them to have everlasting life. Their beliefs are based on God, Jesus, life after death, trinity, and saints. They trust in God, who is their father, as Jesus Christ. Taught them. Christians recognize Jesus as the son of God, to whom the Bible tag as the Messiah. According to the teaching of Jesus, he did not just come to teach the word of God, but instead to accomplish the law of God that he had sent His only begotten son as a savior. They believe in the trinity of God, the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Additionally, they are sure that God is present yesterday, today, and forever, seen in the followers’ lives. Moreover, they claim that there is life after death, and this is the true definition of eternal life in Christianity. Furthermore, saints can mediate between God and man. However, it is only common in the Catholics but not in all protestants. Above all, Christianity’s core virtue is prayer, as it is the only way to communicate with God. These beliefs, however, are just a few among the numerous believes among the Christian religion.
Notable writings in Christianity are the popularly read books that influence the followers’ lives and are trusted to contain Christianity’s guidelines. These writings include the Bible and other non-sacred books that have a significant impact on the believers. Christians perceive the Bible as a library as it entails several books within it. It has two major subdivisions; new testament and old testament. The old testament has 39 books within it, with categories such as law and prophetic. The new testament has 27 books, categorized and the letters and gospels books. The sheer variety of writing in the Bible is one of the mysteries of its proceeding with prominence as the centuries progressed. There is something for all dispositions and a wide range of societies. Its message isn’t covered in strict language simply available to either adherents or researchers, yet mirrors the issues individuals battle within everyday life. Other non-sacred books used in the religion include Confession that Augustine of Hippo had written about his journey in sinful life and conversion to Christianity and Book of Martyrs, by John Foxe polemical accounting protestants suffering under the cathedral catholic church. Other books are; Mere Christianity by C.S Lewis, Knowing God by J. Parker, and Desiring God by John Piper, among other prominent writings.
Worship in Christianity is defined as the attribution of reverent tribute and honor to God by praising Him. Christians praise God in different ways, such as prayers, music, and holy ceremonies. Additionally, they also use gospel-related speeches, reading, and sermons as a way of worship. Christians perceive worship as a way of working for God and honoring him through the exemplary life of Jesus Christ. They believe that only through worship can they connect to God, and their prayers can respond. Among these believers, some worship in public services known as the liturgy, individually or privately. They express their gratitude and worship through thanksgiving, love, and devotion to God. Christians prompt their worship throw, financial offering, dancing, raising of hands, studying of the scripture, bowing, among other styles. Christians value worship as a promise written in the Bible that is only through worship that God comes to judge the righteous (Psalms 95:13). Additionally, they believe that worship is a way that keeps believers equal as everyone has the opportunity to access God. Through worship, even some of the Christian claim that there is no necessity of having mediators like a priest as they can worship to reach God.
Christian family can be defined as the institution of the Christian society rooted and ordained by God. This family comprises of people related by blood, marriage, or adoption designed by God. According to the Bible, Genesis, Exodus, and Joshua, a family is a fundamental human social order organization. Families formed through marriage are believed to have been ordained by God, and that is its unity of two people that have lest the maternal structures from their matrimonial structure. Christianity is as well principled by the command of God that they should multiply to fill the world. This principle also guides Christian parents on how they should responsibly raise their children in the ways of God.
In Christianity, the church symbolizes the religion established by the Cristian society to benefit individuals and society. However, the church’s benefits to society are supposed to be enacted by the individual Christian values. These values can be personal or societal, motivating, influencing, and determining lifestyles in the community. Christians believe that it is their role to live an exemplary life of proper morals helping the less fortunate in society like the homeless and the orphans.
Christianity is founded to aim at understanding the meaning of life and the health of society. Christian spirituality and religion have a significant impact on health. Therefore, these effects are being used by medical experts to help their patients solve their health issues. Additionally, Christians also aim to solve the problems in society by offering mental health therapies, funding the healthcare institutions, and providing their personnel to help in the service to the sick. There are Christian foundations that freely provide mental therapies, making it accessible to every individual who may need it. They have also placed these firms in different parts of the world, not to have to travel a long distance to reach these services. Furthermore, Christians advocate for peace, love, and harmony, which significantly impact most people’s mental health worldwide. Likewise, the Christian foundations have programs that help the less fortunate in society like widows, orphans, poor, and homeless. They achieve this by giving necessities like clothes, food, and establishing camps for them. Christian families have entailed literate people who voluntarily serve in healthcare institutions to help take care of the patients. This personnel, such as nurses, doctors, and other experts, also preach the gospel that Christians have faith in healing.
Generally, Christianity is a religion whose main focus is on the belief and faith that revolves around living the life like that of Jesus Christ. This way of life is reflected in all aspects, like philosophy, families, and society. Other aspects include worship, beliefs, and other notable wrings that drive the Christian religion. These features have made Christianity develop moral values and principles among its followers toward society, outside their religion. As a result, Christians have attained the influential capacity to the universe through charity actions they offer to many nations. These charity works towards society has greatly impacted lives when it comes to health issues. It has eased the burden on the government and the healthcare organization in tackling such health problems. They have helped in catering for mental problems and poverty and contribute to the service to ailed people.
