Identities & Flexible Thinking Name Institution Professor Course Date Summary of the Peer-reviewed Article Gaither et al. (2020) conducted a study to determine whether making children aware of their multiple identities would enhance their thinking. The study’s main variables are; children between the age of six and seven, similar physical traits such as legs, and multiple identities like neighbors and friends. The researchers subjected 48 children of ages 6 and 7 in Experiment 1 to either multiple identities or physical attributes and later on observed changes in their thinking abilities. Children who had been assigned to people with different identities similar to them were noted to have higher problem-solving skills than those who had been given individuals with the same physical attributes. In Experiment 2, the procedure was replicated, where children were made to think about their own multiple identities, while others had to think about other children’s various identities. The second experiment’s research findings indicated that children who thought about their own identities elicit creative thinking skills and could solve problems efficiently. On the other hand, children who thought…

Secrets of the Viking Sword and Marketing Strategies Name Date Institution Every business needs robust marketing strategies for their products to reach target clients and make them clients. From the film ‘Secrets of the Viking Sword,’ several outstanding marketing strategies are used, as shown in the analysis. The primary strategy used is the product itself. In the Vikings age, swords were of great essence since they were used a lot in the war. The Vikings sword, famously known as the “Ulfberht,” was the best in the market, the highest quality, it was rare, and there was a massive demand for it. Thus, the sword was highly-priced and compelling to many. Similarly, unique and quality products in the market, fulfilling client demands, increase the product’s demand and prices. Another marketing strategy seen in the film is a competitive advantage. A firm with an advantage over resources or firm inputs saves on cost and thus puts the company ahead of its competitors. The Ulfberht sword was exceptional, and nobody knew how they were made. The process…

I Am Not Your Negro Name Institution Professor Course Date I Am Not Your Negro by James Baldwin criticizes America and condemns it for its inability to do away with racial inequality. The paper will discuss three critiques of America, as presented in the documentary. The movie remains one of the most-watched because it showcases American society’s brutality and the trauma that the black folks went through during the 20th century. “I am terrified of the moral apathy in this country.” As the statement is narrated in the film, one can see the happy faces of the whites who are smiling in the parades. They are insensible of the suffering and the cruelty that is meted out on the people, co-occurring in the towns and cities (Newman, 2019).  According to Baldwin, the whites have become moral monsters because they deceived themselves to the extent that they do not perceive a black man as human. James Baldwin states that “People cannot bear too much reality.” here, Baldwin says that truth hurts the American people, especially the whites (Newman, 2019). In an event…

globalization aspect of the world Introduction Technology has intensified the globalization aspect of the world. As the internet has taken over the practice of interaction and doing business, data storage and security have been becoming a phenomenal area of consideration. These trends have led to the emergence of forensics, where governments have stepped in using policy to protect individuals and organizations against data breach, hacking and cyber-attacks. The government tends to achieve this through digital forensics. Digital forensics explain the process by which entities preserve, identify, extract and document computer evidence, which can be admissible in the court of law. As a science of finding evidence from digital media such as a mobile phone, computer, server, or network, it enables the forensic team with significant techniques and tools for solving complicated digital-related cases. The complications ultimately solved include analysing, inspecting, identifying, and preserving digital evidence, which goes a long way towards combating and apprehending perpetrators of cybercrime among other digital-related lawlessness. This essay provides a proper understanding of the trends in digital forensics, governance and compliance. As such, the first…

Student’s name: Course: Professor: Institution: Hume’s Problem of Induction. Inductive reasoning is a form of reasoning that conclusions are made without existing evidence but rely on past events or matters. The premises in an inductive argument are used to provide backup to conclusions made, but they are not conclusive by themselves. Hume’s induction problem is mainly based on the “cause and effect” reasoning, the problem of uniformity in nature, and the last problem depending on past experiences and events. Hume believed the mind is filled with mental elements called ideas, which can only be traced back to the impressions of experiences in our senses. It is from the impressions that ideas are copied into our minds. Induction philosophy is the reasoning process where the premise of an argument supports the conclusion but fails to ensure it. It is used to describe relationships based on previous observations of repeating events and formulate laws. For instance, an observation that all American presidents have been male and concluding that America’s next president will be a Man. David Hume, a Scottish philosopher, asserts that…

The police have, for a long, come up with various strategies for controlling the crowds. Most of the methods are sanctioned because they are seen as lethal and other allowed. Police come up with inventions that are less lethal but succeed in crowd control, especially during protests. One of these inventions is pepper spray that has gained widespread use over time. The use of pepper spray has continued for a long time and does not seem to reduce in use despite the widespread negative criticism. The use of pepper spray is still prevalent due to identification and certification. The paper provides a summary and analysis of the reading with attention to pepper spray by law enforcement agencies. Certification means that the professionals involved in pepper spray technology argue that the innovation is useful, and hence its use should go on. Identification is the idea that the current technology users see themselves similar to the previous ones and hence no need for doing away with the technology. Certification and identification have led to the diffusion of pepper spray technology despite the…

Writing is hard, as stated in many works that I have read through this semester. However, with practice, forming words into logical sentences becomes easier, and that is what this semester has done to my writing ability. When I first got into this class, I was but a novice, but at this moment, I can say that I am a capable writer. In the class, I was able to really develop my writing from learning how to avoid plagiarism to learning how to summarize pieces of works substantially. In that part of my learning process, it occurred to me that I dint have a good grasp of the concepts. However, learning the basics was just the tip of the iceberg, as soon after, I was thrown into the first assignments where I would be required to use the skill that I had learned at the beginning of the class. My first major reading was based on the chapter Simplicity in William Zinsser’s book. The chapter provided insight into making writing easier by avoiding the unnesssesary unnecessary is prevalent in today’s…
