Beneficence- is a state of doing good or producing well, while maleficence is the quality or state of doing evil or harm. Based on the study case, James seems to be at the last stage of kidney failure as a result of health complications and in need of a kidney donor to survive. The problem began from an illness that started as acute, moved to chronic, and eventually critical for lack of proper hemodialysis. At the same time, James’s parents were reluctant to approve relevant medical interventions to reverse the situation. James’ health problem starts as a normal throat infection glomerulonephritis to subsequent unmanageable hypertension and fluid retention that required immediate kidney dialysis. Failure on his parent’s parts to allow immediate medical attention, the damage was so severe that dialysis could no longer offer a long-term health solution, and James had to get a kidney transplant.
