Business intelligence and big data are key players in business in making tactical and strategic decisions. I agree with the author that these two sets are efficient tools in running a business since they give a glimpse of how the market had been and how it might look in the future. Business intelligence tools analyze and access data and then give analytics in charts, graphs, reports, and maps. The main purpose of business intelligence, in the end, is to track happenings and evaluate what happened. Using data, these businesses are able to analyze and report positions of products and future expectations.
Big data deals with the extraction and analyzation large amounts of data in a systematic manner. Big data is associated with velocity, volume, and variety. Due to its large capacity, it is not easy to sample big data, but instead, we track and observe trends. In a business, the organization plays a key role in behavior analysis and predictive analysis. Big data plays a key role in maximizing profits, marketing based on consumer preference, and improving business operations. I fully agree with the author that these two sets are vital in maximizing operations in all aspects of a business.
