Brazil
The USA was not the only power seeking the centrality of power, which means the references and interest were affected. Brazil was among the countries that paid less attention to the United States’ preferences, contrary to the assertion in the video presentation. The brazil leaders were not worried about the power diffusion, not even the rising entropy based on international trade order. The current population density composed of many young people was unmoored with the prevailing global issues in their quest to foster economic development (Anderson et al., 295). It is not justifiable to claim that the Brazil population will be four times older than that of the United States by 2040. This is ascertained information since the fact is that the active population in Brazil is still the people engaged in reproduction, which means that the population density will continue to increase, which will add to the young population.
Moreover, Zeihan seems to read the predicaments of other countries in the future but fails to elucidate that the plights that are faced by Brazil, such as housing, is more felt in the United States. Moreover, in united states has been hit by prevalent of diseases and obesity due to poor feeding culture, and this indicates the vulnerability of the population to actively engage in economic activities, indicating that in the near future, the country may be compelled to rely on foreign human resources in their industries (De Oliveria 68). The order of current control will also be viewed as a design to control the perpetuating of power by individual countries. This is bound to depict the U.S hegemony and volatility of underperforming countries.
Therefore, Brazil could not have waited for more than 30 decades, as argued by Zeihan, to witness a domestic shift in its political aspect and inequality growth dictated by another country. Moreover, Brazil’s economic growth was spurred by the adoption of FTA that helped the country in recovering from its competitiveness in place of the global economy (Carreras-Marín et al., 13). Therefore, as a country experiencing its bad recession record, the country’s political scandals have made some parts of the country experience unprecedented economic hardships that were unprecedented.
The claim that Brazil’s economy depends on the United States’ formulas does not hold any truth. The reason is that despite the many years of economic setbacks in Brazil, the economic growth was propelled by the acts of the policymakers in promotion of county’s export as well as more focus on FTA on other countries as well as economic blocs beyond the region of Latin America (Carreras-Marín et al., 19). The opening of the country’s trade into new markets and agreements poised Brazil to achieve a broader international reach with its new global partners. This led to the improvement of trade relations, thus contributing to the county’s economy’s current growth and stability and not as expressed by Zeihan.
