The aspect of Giovanni de Verrazano describing Indians as individuals living in absolute freedom does not just mean to complement them. The familiar modern comprehension of freedom as personal independence is mostly based on the fact that they can own property. For the Indians, this has little meaning among its people. Despite the above, Indians have unique ideas that are certainly meant to describe their type of freedom. In most Indian societies, the selling and purchase of slaves were unknown. However, some societies saw small-scale slavery. The same applied to the development and existence of personal liberty. Indians had the capacity to ensure that they undertook some efforts to fight the European invasions that reduced most of them to slavery.

Despite some individuals expected to think for themselves, they always failed to go along with collective decision-making. Appropriate behaviour became the centrepiece of attention when it came to most Indian men and women. This was used as a factor to judge the character of the different individuals. Most importantly, the Indian communities were instrumental in preferring autonomy in terms of their kinship ties. Individuals focused on following one’s spiritual values, well-being, and the security of the community. The Indian community encouraged culture group autonomy. People were self-determined to achieve personal goals. There was a mutual obligation that originated from a sense of belonging and connectedness.

Assignment 2

Ann was known to be a very powerful regent that saw her take the position of his younger brother and dominate the powers of her husband. According to her, love is reduced to a factor that keeps the relationship between a man and a woman strong. It is only meant for reproduction compared to just a political factor. She advises her daughters that there is no man of worth. She talks of every man as being below a woman. She talks of the wickedness of men, who tend to pretend to talk about love to women, yet they cannot in any way deliver in terms of providing the love. Trust is seen as the main tool of discussion. Ann of France talks of his daughters not trusting any man who promises love. The main reason for this is the fact that not all men are similar. Some men are seen as being dynamic, while others are considered as being responsive to circumstances. Ann has a different relationship with her husband. Despite loving him, she does not take time to become a subordinate to his powers. She goes ahead to become powerful and take the throne by herself, to show that she is the one who should be on the throne and not anyone else.
