Day by day week by week am learning new content through the class. This week I have learned two facts that I did not know about youtube. Which was the first video uploaded in youtube? Which youtube upload has most views? Youtube co-founder Jawed Karim uploaded the first video that was uploaded in youtube called Me at the zoo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNQXAC9IVRw&ab_channel=jawed. The video, with the most view, is Baby Shark Dance with over 7.20 billion views https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqZsoesa55w&ab_channel=Pinkfong%21Kids%27Songs%26Stories . It was a surprise because I thought no video would have more than five billion views. I read in the article that artists and music recorders are preferring to release music singles and upload them in YouTube for free because the more the views, the more the revenues. I had to dig deeper and establish the top earners on youtube and Instagram.
YouTube top 5 earners include Jeffree Star earning $17 million, Preston Arsement earning $14 million, PewDiePie earning $13 million, Markiplier $13 million, Daniel Middleton earning $12 million. In Instagram, I found that Kylie Jenner earns $1.2million per post while Ariana Grande earns $966,000 per post. Cristiano Ronaldo ranks third earning $975,000 per post but also have the most followers.
It is easy to how virtual communities is beneficial to society if used in the right way. However, the individuals named above know the worth they gain from the online engagement, and therefore intellectual property protection is one of their priority. They ensure that they have a good team that run the accounts. It is easy to see why the number of YouTubers is mushrooming. There is money in youtube, and it requires an individual to give the audience unique content and be creative. If you upload something appropriate, you will likely gain the attention of the audience you never thought. I have listened to it several times even if I do not know Spanish.
