In this blog, I will be writing about one of the Beatles’ albums, the abbey road. In 1969 the Beatles released an album by the name the abbey road. Within no time, the album became one of the tops in that year. The abbey road’s cover features the singers at a zebra crossing since the singers had undergone serious turmoil before recording that piece of art. It came during a difficult time because they had lost their main manager Brian Epstein. This really affected the movement of the four members of the group. This forced the bend to shoot their next song outside the studio. This came as a suggestion to commemorate the death of their manager. The cover of the album was a last-minute rush of a ten-minute shoot. Abbey Road album was really significant in that it changed how pop music was made and listened to. Therefore, this album was so important that it changed the way pop music was made.
In comparison to other albums, the abbey road album is one of a kind and very different from all the other albums the Beatles ever recorded. Previously the Beatles had all the time they had to release their albums, but with abbey road, the case was different. Abbey Road was recorded on an eight-track reel to reel tape machine rather than the normal four tape machines. Clearly, this showed how important the album was to the Beatles. The album had a great message to pass across and somehow changed how pop music was made (Gutman, 2019). Unlike the previous albums, the abbey road made significant use of the guitar played through a Leslie speaker and the Moog synthesizer. In previous sessions, the Moog was used as a background effect, but it was used as a central role in the abbey road. Compared with other albums, the abbey was the first to be recorded by a solid-state transistor mixing desk. This provided a TG console that allowed better support for the eight-track recording. Therefore, it created a softer sound channel than the other earlier valve desks.
In conclusion, the abbey road album presented the band’s potential at its best. The album became of the greatest ever made by the band. It showcased the best application of songwriting and lyrical creativity. The Beatles managed to employ top-notch creativity in writing the album, resulting in greater captivity to all the listeners. Vocal harmonies and the use of guitars in the entire song was so epic. The band applied the perfect use of guitars and other vocal instruments that had never been used by any other band ever. Also, the studio works, and the overdubs in the albums are out of this planet. The studio works are so amazing that the funs could not believe something as awesome as this was ever possible at that time. Mixing the motional content and energetic fun was also so conspicuous. Therefore, this made it so unique that it generated likeness by very many people.
