The module’s Online Nursing Orientation resource presented the graduate nursing certification success framework, which comprises three main parts: Vi-Vision, Value, and Victory. This strategy model aims to give students starting their nursing careers a road map (Lalithabai et al., 2021). Starting with “Vision,” the school encourages students to set a clear path for themselves. Furthermore, the focus on “Value” urges a profound reflection on the importance of each course, emphasizing the critical part they play in the journey to certification success. Success on planned certification tests is the model’s final goal, “Victory.” As a guiding principle, this three-tiered method fits perfectly with how nurses make essential decisions.
Other models, including the PDSA model, are introduced to participants who have finished the program’s theory and research courses. Plan, Do, Study, and Act are the four interconnected phases of the 1920s-era Process Design, Study, and Act (PDSA) paradigm, a powerful instrument for process improvement (Minnesota Department of Health, 2022). This model is significant because it embodies the principles of action research in education and provides a flexible framework that can be used for personal and professional growth and patient care. Incorporating these models into the curriculum aims to develop highly skilled nurses with sophisticated critical thinking and decision-making abilities. The practicality of these models is emphasized by their inclusion, which guarantees that students see them as concrete instruments that are easily incorporated into their daily decision-making processes rather than abstract ideologies.
The importance of these core models is further highlighted as the conversation shifts to the next section, which will center on complementary, alternative, and integrative healthcare approaches. Developing holistic and evidence-based nursing practices is greatly aided by comprehending and applying models such as PDSA within healthcare methods (Minnesota Department of Health, 2022). The unit offers a chance to demonstrate the valuable use of academic frameworks in real-world circumstances because of its emphasis on varied healthcare approaches. Nursing students’ grasp of the dynamic interaction between theory and practice in the nursing profession is further solidified by investigating this integration, which enables them to obtain a greater awareness of these models’ role in creating complete, patient-centered care.
