Solution
The solution to the social problem of drug and alcohol abuse among the youths age 13 to 25 is planned uniquely. First, it will be developing a plan of how things will go through before implementing the solution. At this stage, problem-solving techniques will be involved in planning. The plan includes defining the problem, generating existing solutions, and the proposed solutions. The next step is evaluation of the alternative and, lastly, implementations of the proposed solution.
Content and audience
Prior solutions
From the research of the existing problem, there have been already designed solutions that have been tried to solve drug and alcohol abuse among the youths of age 13 to 25. The solutions which have been existing are the use of detoxification medication and also therapy. These methods have been used to help solve the existing problem; however, there have been minimal results.
Proposed solution
The proposed solution to solve the problem include creating ways to keep a well-balanced life among the individuals affected by the drug abuse problem (Johnson, 2011). The second solution to the problem is indulging the family and community in helping educate the children at a young age on the effects and impacts of abusing drugs (McCollum, & Trepper, 2014). These solutions have been proposed because they are deemed efficient and will positively affect the individuals abusing drugs and help them become people of substance in the community. Furthermore, the proposed solutions are effective because they are backed up with an audience that has influence and serves the same agenda to help eradicate drug and alcohol abuse among the youth in the community. Once these solutions have been implemented, they will eradicate the effects that come with drug and alcohol abuse in society, such as crime and violence.
Audience
The different audiences will be involved in helping to solve the problem. These audiences include the Addiction Policy Forum (APF) and the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America (CADCA). Each audience plays an important role in the implementation of the solution to fix the existing problem. The APF is a well-known Non-profit organization that solely aims to end stigma and help individuals and families who find themselves in the crisis of drug and alcohol abuse. The organization has a vision of eliminating addiction, which has become a critical health problem among many communities today. The organization is primarily motivated by the fact that they can eliminate the problem of addiction in communities by helping patients and families who have been affected (McCollum & Trepper, 2014). The organization will be used to fund different projects that will make the affected individual make their life balance through different activities like arts and performance. The other organization is the CADCA, which is primarily motivated in emphasizing coalitions to help prevent substance abuse through collaborative community efforts. The organization is motivated by the belief of preventing drug and alcohol abuse among individuals of young age. The organization will help solve the problem by providing essential materials that will train parents and the community on engaging in drug and addiction conversations with their children (Johnson, 2011). Due to the coalition with different departments of the law, the organization would assist in passing policies that will help regulate the abuse of drugs and alcohol in society.
