Voters find it impossible to circumvent the power of money because of;
Privacy in voting.
The decision a voter makes at the ballot remains to be his/her secret. This encourages voters to receive money from different politicians and still make the choice of their own without being subjected to accountability.
Corruption among leaders.
The increased cases of corruption among leaders have left voters with no option but to give in to the pressure; leaders are changing the way they persuade voters to vote for them instead they offer a good deal in terms of money so they can win the vote.
Poverty
Increased level of poverty is leaving voters to the point of begging than exercising their constitutional rights. They are ready to sale their vote and get money in return.
Ignorance
Ignorance among voters concerning the power that is in their vote. Many voters do not perceive their vote as a life-changing tool but see it as just a responsibility and a tradition. Through this ignorance, voters have never realized the value that is in their vote, and so they accept any form of money for their vote.
Inadequate public education
Public, as a result of inadequate voter education, has been left vulnerable to the mislead and misdirection from the political class. They have been made to believe that those who give money for a vote are the ones deserving to be voted in. this misconception will result in voters not being able to overlook the power of money when it comes to voting.
