Response: Credibility of a Claim
I agree that a credible claim is accurate, and the sources are supporting the claim is valid. Besides, claim claims are not biased because they have evidence supported by legitimate sources and does not contradict information. When evaluating a claimant’s credibility, we do not just consider the sources or the claim themselves, but other factors are still looked upon to determine whether a claim is credible (Moore & Parker, 2017, p.98). Also, look at the authors and date. When evaluating a claim for credibility, look at the following: objectivity, accuracy, authority, coverage, and currency, which will help you in evaluation. Ask yourself whether you understand the claim’s context, whether the claim has a plausible feature, and does align with your argument. Bandwagon advertising is a fallacy that convinces the audience that something is true just because it’s popular amongst the users. It is not a credible claim because it is propaganda that I intended to increase a product’s sales.
