Role of Business Strategy
Every business organization requires a strategy to have a higher chance of equally competing with other business organizations. The business strategy must have clear outlines to improve the business organization’s performance (Lestari et al., 2020). A good business strategy should define an organization’s main competitors and its market environment. Business organizations without a business strategy rarely have clear directions that their employees and other top management can follow to drive the business towards achieving its objectives. Other than business strategy giving directions, it also increases the organization’s adaptability to the ever-changing business environment (Tapera, 2014). Therefore, for a business to become more profitable and efficient, it must have a well-outlined strategy.
Giving directions to a business organization is one of the key roles of a business strategy. Once the business organization has set its goals, a well-defined business strategy will enable the entire organization to work towards a similar direction, that is, to achieve the set goals hence instilling a sense of responsibility to the employees. Business strategy also increases the organization’s adaptability to the ever-changing business environments. Business organizations should have the ability to adapt to the changes in market demands for it to be successful. Ukko et al. (2019) argue that an organization has to develop new strategies to enable it to adapt to the market changes.
According to Ismail, Khater, and Zaki (2017), every business organization eyeing for success in its doings should have a strategy. A perfect business strategy should define the organization’s goals and the reasons for these goals. A business strategy will enable us to be effective, profitable, and adaptive to market demands changes. Barbosa, de Oliveira, and Santos (2018) argue that organizations need better strategies to enable them to withstand competition forces.
