Seemingly nothing is more critical for the international business enterprise than culture and how to manage individuals who work in the industry efficiently. The hiring and treatment of workers in an international organization often seem so bound up in the culture, rules, regulations, and red tape that effective management is frequently complicated (B, 2019).
A geocentric approach refers to a staffing policy that seeks the best individual for key jobs throughout the organization, not considering nationality but skilled and talented and having a satisfying track record. In this type of approach, an organization analyzes its clients’ need globally and then implements a standardized working practice in every market it serves (International HRM, 2018). This process is more practical and considers prevailing market trends, financial situation, promotion strategy, recruitment issues, etc.
In the ethnocentric approach, recruitment policy is where parent-state nationals fill all main administration positions to sustain a unified corporate culture. The organization operates globally the same way it functions domestically, using the parent state nationals. According to how it recruits, expatriate administrators would be more familiar with the organization’s regulation, and they can carry policies outside the country.
A polycentric approach envisages that members of supervision in the host state know the best approach to manage a firm in the host country. A progression polycentric method assumes that as organizations become more committed to foreign markets, they discover that individual states might need a degree of customization which ethnocentric doesn’t allow. This approach requires host-country individuals to be hired to manage subsidiaries, with parent-state occupying key positions at the organization’s headquarters.
