As we always say, one of our key pillars at Talisman Stones Co. is transforming people’s lives in every way possible. We live by this pillar and incorporate it in everything we do at the company. One way in which we put it into practice, is through giving back to the community.
At Talisman Stones Co. we understand the importance of giving back, and that is why we usually set aside a percentage of all our profits and donate it to the less fortunate. Led by the CEO, we have been able to impact so many lives through our incredible works of charity. To give you a clear picture of what we are talking about, here are some of our charity-related activities;
Feeding Children in Burma
Most of the funds we set aside for charity goes towards feeding children in Burma.
Burma, also known as Myanmar, is a country in South East Asia. It borders, China, Bangladesh, Laos, India and Thailand.
If you have been to Burma, and seen how the people there live you can agree that a lot of them are low-income earners. That is why the country has one of the highest poverty rates in the region, 37.5%, according to the World Bank, and as we all know in situations like this, children are affected the most. That is why we took it upon ourselves to be donating food to the Burmese children so as to ease their pain and put a smile on their faces.
Provision of Supplies to People after the Occurrence of Natural Disasters
Another way in which Talisman Stones Co. gives back to the society is through the provision of supplies after natural disasters like floods and avalanches strike.
As we all know, natural disasters are characterized by the massive destruction of various kinds. People lose their homes, plants are destroyed, and animals are displaced.
In as much as we do not like them, natural disasters are caused by “nature,” meaning no one has control over them and all we can do is cope. In the spirit of coping with the after math of natural disasters, Talisman Stones Co. usually steps in and helps people affected by such calamities.
We do this by supplying necessities like food, shelter, clothing, among many other things. With this, we get to help people go through their struggles with ease as they wait for things to go back to normal.
Making Donations to Patients in Mental Health Institutions
In most parts of the world, people suffering from mental illnesses, are often neglected by society. This is not right as everyone deserves to be loved, appreciated and treated humanely. Talisman Stones Co., understands this, and that is why we make donations to various mental health institutions.
For the longest time now, Talisman Stones Co. has been making sure that patients at the mental institution in Yangon get hot, tasty and healthy meals throughout the day, something that is not sponsored by the establishment.
Furthermore, rather than just send food to the patients, Talisman Stones Co. staff also visit the institution when making such donations, eat with the patients and spread some love. This goes a long way in showing the patients that we are standing with them, and it gives them hope that one day things will be okay.
Provision of Sanitary Facilities for Local Villages
Provision of basic necessities (food, shelter and clothing) is great, but one critical area is usually left out by most people when making donations, and that is sanitary needs. That is why as Talisman Stones Co., we usually take a small chunk of the money set aside for charity and use it to provide sanitary facilities to the local villages in Burma.
In essence, we have been constructing several toilets, bathrooms, sinks and other sanitary-related amenities for the Burmese people. Our efforts have borne fruit as we have noticed that the general hygiene conditions and well-being of the people we have provided these facilities to have greatly improved. For that reason, we will continue to do this not only in Burma but also in other places across the globe.
