  • Please explain your stance on improving the capacity to design engaging work for students. Why is this so important for a campus principal?

A campus principal should improve the capacity to design engaging work for students based on the following reason. First, it helps in creating a good relationship between the students and the administration. Various reports have when those campus students are most rebellious (Skiba, 2016). The only way of handling them to through helping them to understand that the teacher is there to help them. . As such, the principle’s work should include developing the rights ways or ensuring that there is a good relationship between the students and the teachers. One of the ways of achieving it is through establishing a proper channel of communication. When students feel that they are not heard, they are likely to engage in certain behaviors to seek attention (Paulus 2019). However, there is a proper channel of communication. It will help these students to present their ideas without feeling the need to create attention. One of the ways that students create attention is through the organizing of a strike.

Engaging work for students also helps in equipping them with the right tools. When students are on campus, it is the principal’s responsibility to prepare them for the outside world.  Some of them might not have experience how the real world look like as they are guided by cretin rules and regulation. When they reach the campus leader, principles should try to engage with them to connect with the real world (Paulus 2019).  For example, it can be through engaging with one another as if they finish their studies; they should have developed better social skills.  The principal should administer it by promoting teamwork. Most of these companies are seeking to hire people who are ready to be team players. It is more challenging for campus students when they fail to enforce teamwork as they will have significant difficulties when seeking these employment opportunities.

Giving student choice is another way that a principal could administer to engage with them. When students are in high school, they are given limited choices, as they are supposed to follow s specific sequence. Any student who fails to follow those sequences is either punished or even expelled from the school (Paulus 2019). In that way, when they reach campus, the principal should make them feel like they are grown up. Also, it will be a wait for showing them that they are now responsible for their action. Through engaging with the student, it will help to learn how to partake in these responsibilities (Paulus 2019). For example, the principal should start by assigning them lighter duties to view how they react to them.  Most of the leaders in these major organizations started to develop these skills while they were still on campus.  Based on that, students need to be nursed while they are young to be ready to face the real world.

Campus students should teach the student how to engage in self-monitoring skills. Things include the student trying to understand themselves better. In any case, any very has both their strength and their weakness. It is through such engagement with the students that they will learn how to evaluate themselves as a way of learning how to improve on their strengths as well as addressing their weaknesses.

 

  • What does excellent instructional leadership look like? Please describe.

The best way to determine excellent instructional leadership is by evaluating the behaviors of the students. It is likely to see that some schools or organizations are more organized compares to others.  In any case, good instructional leadership will ensure that it is organizational in their environment. This will also be reflected in the way the students or the employees handle themselves in the real world. Another way of determining excellent instructional leadership is through evaluating the process of communication (Skiba, 2016). Good leaders try as much as possible to provide a good channel of communication that will help in resolving conflicts. In any organizational setting, such communication will promote a better working relationship between the workers and the management.  It is also a way of motivating the employee to learn how to work with each other. When the employee communicates with one other, they will likely get to know each other better. It is even more suitable for employees who are not performing as per the expectations of their leaders. Through communication, they are likely to learn from each other on how to conduct their work.

An excellent instructional leadership can be judged base on the ability of the leader to continuously learning. This can include learning from the employees on how to conduct a certain task (Skiba, 2016). It is not a must for the leader to know everything. In some cases, the leader can seek advice from the employee. Such a measure will show excellent instructional leadership.

The type of leadership style promotes in an organization will also show excellent instructional leadership. One of the most recommended types of leadership style is democratic. When a leader enforces this type of leadership is means that every person in that facility is considered to be equal. It can also include the ability of the leader to try and treat each person with the amount of respect that they deserve.

An excellent instructional leadership can also be noted based on the way the leader motivates their employees. In any case, it is the leader’s responsibility to ensure that the employee is motivated to carry out their different roles. As such, leaders who employ modern methods of motivation will be regarded as excellent instructional leadership (Skiba, 2016). Over the years, leaders have tried to come up with new methods of motivating. This is based on the fact that different employees require different aspects for them to feel motivated. In that way, it is the leader’s responsibility to learn his/her employees and determine the best way of making them feel motivated. In any case, when the employees are motivated, their performance is likely to increase. This means that by motivating the employees, the leader will be doing a favor for them and also the employees.

The ways leaders handle conflict also determine excellent instructional leadership. Handling conflicts is one of the most challenging aspects of any leader. They must ensure that the handling process is fair to all the parties involve d to avoid being bias. It is advised that leaders should research widely on how they can engage in different ways of resolving conflict as such a decision can be used to define their characters.
