Good News! The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) esports tournaments sponsor Valve has announced dates for the 2020 CS Championship. The event will take place in Rio de Janeiro and will be hosted by ESL at Jeunesse Arena.
The event is of great importance to Brazilians; it is the first major in 2020. Despite the Covid-19 threat, this remarkable event will still take place. ESL and Valve rescheduled the event to 19-22 November due to the continuing global health situation.
The prize pool has been increased from $1,0000,00 to $2,000,000. It will be shared among the sixteen teams with the top eight teams getting pro circuit points.

Which Teams to Expect
The Road to Rio has 56 global teams divided into separate divisions for CIS, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania and Asia. These teams will compete for rankings points that will be used to determine a qualification order for November Major.
All teams that will participate in the November Rio Major will be invited through their regional rankings, based on their performances. Twenty-four teams will participate in November Rio Major from six different regions, according to their Regional Major Rankings.
There will be eight challengers, eight contenders, and eight Legend invitations available. Remember that no minors will be invited in the Rio Major since Regional Major Rankings will determine the participating teams.
