HR’S Contribution to Organization Performance
Introduction
Every organization works so that they can move forth and develop as time goes by. Among the primary objectives is on expansion and covering a broader market than they do at startup. That is why there is a necessity for performance evaluation within a successful organization. The necessary departments must keep a record of the business performance to identify which areas require improvement and which areas should be expanded.
Business Performance
A business contains many sectors that can be analyzed to determine the different signs of progress that it is making as a whole. While each department has its goals, they are all interdependent and help decide which direction the company is taking. Therefore, we will be looking at different factors that will help in achieving business performance.
Customer Satisfaction
One of the primary and most essential parts of the business is the customers. Even with well-established strategies and policies but no clients, then no business can prosper. Customer satisfaction can be achieved and evaluated differently. Today, there is the presence of technology and various social media platforms. Within these platforms, we get a chance to interact with the customers and clients on a one on one basis. Here they can share their views, and we can get the feel of what they are experiencing, and if they are happy and satisfied, they point that out. In places that they are not satisfied, they can raise their feelings, which helps us make the right choices. There is also data on the customers and the number of times they interact with a service or buy products. By looking at the number of purchases they have done, we can determine the business’s performance.
Employee Satisfaction
Employees are a significant part of every given business. They are the glue that is holding the organization, and without them the there is no organization. Studies have shown that a happy employee is a satisfied one, and with that, they are best at their work. Job satisfaction is a measure of how well the employees work and the output that they bring. The forms of leadership that they receive influences their job inspiration. With the correct motivation, employees put their best at work, both the training and everyday duties. With better training, they can offer high-level services to the clients that they are serving. Job satisfaction can be seen in the output that every employee is putting. Ensuring that every employee is taken care of working hours, working load, and other things.
Financial Factors
Another major factor that shows the performance of a business is the finances. This has to do with the profit margins, the sales that they make over some time. Solvency ratios and liquidity levels determine the business’s performance, making it another aspect that we have to check out. In as much as making profits can be consistent, the profit margin has to increase is progressing. In as much as we have the bad times where the profit margin is limited or at a loss, the right pattern is a growing profit margin. That shows that the business is going in the right direction and doing well (Kanten, I. K., & Darma, 2017). Such statistics are taken over time. For instance, we can take the margins annually or quarterly within a year and comparing them. Different times within the ecin9my affect a business differently. For example, during summer, there is an increase in sales when it comes to soft drinks. That is why the analysis has to be done within reason.
Product Quality and Returns
When it comes to business and the offering of services and products, there is always a chance that the client will not like it. There is also the margin of error that can, at times, not be avoided. In products, it can be seen by the number of complaints that are made by the clients of the returns of goods within the warranty offered. For instance, if we have many products’ returns, then that means that we are doing something wrong. Like that, the business performance is low and not going well and has to be checked. High warranty teams affect the effectiveness of the product and its take within the market and profitability. All the profits made depend on the services or goods offered to be at their best and have minimal returns.
Market Performance
Additionally, the overall market performance is another measure for the evaluation of business performance. The success of a business can be determined by how they are performing within the market. When venturing within the market, the targeted audience and objectives are aimed at within the market. There are also different ways that the product is accepted and its positioning within the economy’s competitiveness. Companies put a hefty marketing budget to evaluate and capture their hold within the market and economy as a whole (Kanten, & Darma, 2017). Therefore, the market performance evaluation is indicated by market share and market ranking over the sales volume.
Maintaining Performance
Generally, looking at business performance entails evaluating the different aspects used to measure the business’s growth in question. With all the factors mentioned above, it is easy to develop the other indicators of the company’s way. Business performance can be done in so many ways depending on the targeted outcome of departments. At times the implementation is done to see how best to budget and that requires mainly financial analysis and market performance. Even then, it is essential to note that every business has its peak times and off-peak times, which should be considered when attempting to make a business performance analysis.
As an HR, such analysis helps shed light on the areas that require support and those that are doing well. In such a study, they can allocate the necessary resources to improve performance. They can also conduct meetings with the various departments, pat them on the back if their work is good, and point out the areas they need improvement. Setting goals and acknowledging the different measurements that have improved also goes a long way in motivating the team and impacting their performance. HR can also enhance business performance by creating enhanced training sessions such that every employee is getting trained every once in a while. At times, companies take that training so only for the recently recruited. The things with business are that it is always changing, and new ideologues and skills emerge. Therefore, HR has to ensure that every staff member is trained up to date to be conversant with the necessary tactics (Townsend et al., 2018). We also have increasing plans for team building, while many may think it a waste of time. It gives the staff a chance to know each other better and bond. Within this time, the team meets and interacts with others from different departments and shares experiences and time, strengthening the bond between the employees, which is suitable for the company. If they feel that they can approach each other and help each other where necessary, it becomes easier to work together for the better.
Business Data
Notably, in most companies, the decision-making process is dependent on the data that they have. Even at a startup, they gather data to determine the best way to venture into the market and maneuver. That is why an already running company has to collect business data to know the way forward and how to go about it. Everything here is dependent on the statistics, how they will turn out, how they are going as it is, and how they can be changed for the better. At the same time, it is essential to note that they are to use both the internal and external data for better planning within a company. Both provide an overview of how things are flowing and if anything should be changed or spiced up. There are so many sources of business data. At times, the sources are dependent on the data’s objective, if it within a particular department. They limit the references to areas that are related to the departments. ‘
One of the areas that they can get business data is in the financial records and data. Here they can derive the information on learning and development spending. Here it is all about the cash that is used for development and pushing the company forth. There is also accounting for the profit margins over some time compared to the same period a year before. Here the data that is gotten is calibrated as the returns on investments that the company has made. The kind of calibrations and quotations that they get are what help in making a way forwards. The company can decide to move in the same direction or change up a few things to improve it. The decision depends on the data collected and its analysis (Ganiyu, R. A., Barbara, & Paul,2018). Improvements cannot be planned for if there is no supporting or gearing data, and with the financial data, it becomes easier to feel what is going on within the company.
Another source of data is the government information. Every organization works within a particular jurisdiction, and they have to follow some legal laws. The thing with rules and regulations is that they are open to change. Therefore, every business has to ensure that they are up to date regarding the rules and regulations. If they are not in compliance, they are bound to suffer the consequences, and it could even cost them their business license. The government keeps changing up things and even inputting new laws that they have to follow. There are also the national Federal Reserve issues and the bits of help that it offers to businesses. There are also the opportunities that the government provides to the people so that they can work together. All these are necessary for any business decisions if they are within a foreign land; they must be well updated on the necessities and regulations they have to follow. Even with everything working right, noncompliance with the government can cause a company’s downfall or a significant loss for it (Newman et al., 2016). Within this, we focus on the government publications and statements delivered so that we are up to date in such matters.
Following the general reports on the economy is another source of business data. We have competition out there and other factors that influence our effectiveness. Therefore so that we can stay at the top and be well prepared. We have to be aware of what is happening in the market. This can be gotten by reading newspapers, watching the news on the business bit, reading economics-related columns, and business-related columns, among other things. Luckily, we live in times where everything is digitalized. Therefore, we can access all the information from our devices wherever we are. With that, we can collect the necessary data and use it when making significant decisions. Through the same news and sources, we learn about the new trends and preferences of the people so that we can better up our services and meet them where they are. Understanding the clients is a significant aspect of a business, and with the information, we can plan and do that easily. With that achieved, we can make progress into expanding, increasing our targeted audience, and putting loyal customers. It is also a place to view the criticisms to avoid them planning how to change up the bad and turn it into a beneficial venture. Within today’s dynamic, the metrics of successful development for any organization is determined by the reactions to different requirements. Factors influencing business are always changing and how best they adopt is what determines how good they can get to survive within the demanding market. All these are gotten via the data that is collected. No given information within the business comes without an evaluation, which is brought in the form of data.
Additionally, analysis by different business surveys is another great source for business data. Every now and then, a survey is done meant to show the different rankings, performances, and strategies by different companies within a homogeneous sector. They can be very informative when well analyzed, and that is the kind of data we need. That is why we cannot afford to overlook the surveys. Depending on the survey, we can pick up on different things like the position within the market. The views of the public on matters concerning different factors that we deal with. The data gotten is a lot, and we have to chose that which is compatible with us and applies within our field. That way, we can improve our performances and better plan for the future and overcome some of the issues that we might be facing. There exist so many ways of gathering business data. All we have to do is choose the best suited as per the data being targeted. That is in the case of our revenues and spendings. We will go through a financial analysis of the data. While in terms of customer feedback. It will involve the use of social media platforms to get a real feel of their needs and their views on the product or service offered.
Conclusion
Notably, there are various ways that a company can gather business data and monitor business performance. The way to incorporate all the above mentions as an HR is by introducing the different strategies for improvement. That is increasing the regular training so that every employee is well versed with the data they are supposed to do. There are also different motivations within their departments to do their best and are satisfied with their jobs. Business is a venture supported by many, and they all have to work together to achieve the success they are looking for. An HR’s duties are to ensure that the employees are well taken care of while still managing the business and ensuring that everything is flowing as it should. Mainly they uphold the department of the employees.
Among the things that I have learned is that while we can wait for our companies’ analysis, I have to take up extra steps. This I can achieve by reading and going through the business newspapers. As long as we are in business, there is always something to learn, which can be gotten within the newspapers. Another thing is following up on business news online. It is also here that I can get the latest information on the markets and the economy. It can also provide insight into the competition and how to improve on our
