From all dimensions, Costco is founded within a culture that highly values passion, self-importance, honesty and offers the most compassionate employee treatment for numerous decades now. Costco’s organizational structure is a reflection of the firm’s commitment to providing excellent service to customers. The strengths allocated to their human resources are interconnected to the positive attitude encouraged through Costco’s organizational structure. This has enabled the firm to gain massive success and fulfill customer satisfaction. Costco’s organizational structure attributes include having a common goal of excellence, which enables them to stay focused on an excellent performance. The second attribute is the positivity that is within the firm where politeness and customer friendliness is emphasized greatly throughout the entity. The third attribute is the high-efficiency level, which keeps employees motivated for long and sustains optimum productivity.
Other than that, service orientations are another feature of Costco firms that assist in aligning employees to the business’s main objective, which is providing the most effective retail service. This strategy also enables Costco to keep employees’ motivation levels high to interact with clients most productively and profitably. Employees at Costco have developed strong team coercion, which maximizes the employees’ performance by utilizing team synergy to attain elasticity that allows the organization to address variations to customer preferences.
Analyzing Costco’s culture, I have noticed how different my organization’s culture is from Costco. For instance, my firm has developed employee teams where we are put in groups and assigned certain tasks. However, our teams are not much developed, which contributes to conflicts and disagreements among members causing them to die within a short time. Another thing is the positive attitude, which remains the most encouraging virtue in my organization. The first day a new employee gets hired, they are trained to treat employees with courtesy. Other than that, Costco’s culture is more effective when compared to my organization since Costco has a lot of cohesion within it, which has made it to enjoy massive success and paybacks of satisfied employees and customers. This is different from my organization, as employees always complain about how little they get paid compared to their daily work. This has led to my organization, recording high employee turnover rates as they leave to look for greener pastures.
