In the case of Somalia and Ethiopia, the legal border dispute threatens public international laws. Ethiopia deciding to attack her neighbor Somalia will lead to breaking the laws set by the United Nations board. The first law Ethiopia will break by using force attacks is the principal law of necessity, which necessitates that attacks be non-violent or apply legitimate enforcement agencies. The attacks will also break the principle of proportionality. This is because many misinterpret the principle of Ethiopia will have broken the law.
Question 2
The legal arguments supporting and rebelling against the use of nuclear weapons are not convincing. This is because negotiations fail to consider the security of the global environment. In this case, the use of nuclear weapons causes environmental pollution. In other cases, the legal arguments regarding the use of nuclear weapons contradict legal consensus. The primary reason behind this statement is that the ban of nuclear weapons becomes ineffective several times. Besides, the ban appears to be decisive and is not based on the consensus of the majority.

In war, the law plays a key role in clarifying its application in times of dispute. The law is set to codify or systematize behavioral norms by giving the military more clarity on how military operations are conducted. This is because the military will be able to apply the law in establishing required standards that will align with acceptable behaviors. Besides, the law is applicable during the war because it will enable the military to maintain order by resolving disputes. Therefore, peoples’ liberties and rights will be highly protected.
