Introduction.
People see the use of a gun is a false idea because most countries, such as the US, allow citizens to possess firearms. After all, the proper use of a weapon does not cause any harm. Therefore, it is from this idea that the government should advocate for anti-gun control laws because it embraces the amendment of the second law that provides the citizens with rights of possession. On the other hand, gun control entails gun access regulation and types; however, statistics indicate that gun control will not stop gun violence. This is because the only thing that needs to be controlled is the people and not the guns. Therefore, there is a need to advocate for anti-gun control regulations. For instance, areas with stricter gun control laws are more prone to gun violence than those with fewer gun laws because people lack the guns used for their defense. I have witnessed several cases in which people were either attacked at home or in the streets but lacked the means to access guns due to strict gun laws; hence they couldn’t defend themselves. Anti-gun control laws will reduce the illegal supplies in the black markets, act as security, and enhance citizens’ rights. First, if guns are banned through strict gun controls, people will find a way to possess them through the black markets.
If the government restricts guns’ access to its citizens, most will find alternatives from the black markets. This is because the primary purpose of possession of a firearm is for self-protection in case of an attack. If people are allowed to possess guns, they will not go to the extent of stealing firearms to have them regardless of the laws against them (Blendon, Young & Hemenway, 2016). Anti-gun control will also reduce guns in the black markets since people will possess a firearm in self-defense. Therefore, it is vital for the government to see sense in allowing the people to own guns because even if laws are made strict, others will find ways to circumvent regulations. Hence gain access to guns even if it means altering data on background checks. Secondly, the people who use the gun to kill another person are not the gun itself that kills. Therefore, allowing people to own guns is not a bad idea because most citizens would use it for self-defense.
Since a gun is typically used for self-defense, the government should not limit gun possession through firm gun laws because it will strip off the citizens their sense of security against intruders. Criminals will always find alternative weapons to attack their victims; hence if a target lacks a gun to defend themselves, this will jeopardize their safety. Thus, regulating the possession of home firearms will make people highly vulnerable to invasion (Rostron, 2018). Also, allowing citizens to own a gun will reduce government dependency as they will self-reliant in terms of security. Contrary to that, gun control laws facilitate a form of dictatorship in which citizens only live at the government’s mercy. Thirdly, anti-gun control embraces the US Constitution, which gives its citizens the right to possess firearms.
American citizens have the individual right to bear firearms; thus, more gun controls will infringe the constitution’s rights. Americans are allowed to have guns for legitimate purposes such as self-defense at home. Besides, the right to bear firearms for U. S citizens is a fundamental requirement that maintains liberty. Anti-gun control laws will also concur with the second amendments constitutional right that offers the freedom to gun ownership. The second amendment clearly states that ownership of guns is the citizens’ right considering the idea of a Free State; hence strict gun laws will infringe upon this enactment (Halbrook, 2019).
Conclusion
In conclusion, anti-gun control laws enhance protection, self-reliance and improve civil rights. Allowing citizens to own a gun will reduce gun supplies in the black market because everyone citizen would wish to own a firearm. After all, it is their right. Anti-gun laws will also provide people with protection against intruders or a government that turns against its people. This will facilitate security and safety for Americans.
Additionally, more gun control laws infringe upon the second amendment of the constitution, which gives citizens the right to bear firearms for legitimate purposes. Areas with stricter gun control laws are more prone to gun violence than those with fewer gun laws; hence anti-gun control laws should be embraced. Therefore, people should adopt the idea of anti-gun control laws since it promotes their self-reliance, security, and civil rights.
